The 2025 BMW M5 is a high-performance midsize luxury car offered in just one trim level but two different body styles: the M5 sedan and M5 Touring, a wagon variant. Both are powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 plug-in hybrid setup, which makes a combined 717 horsepower and 738 lb-ft. That power is distributed to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system, which have been tuned for performance by BMW's M division. There's only one model in the lineup, so your job is made easy for you. However, your M5 can be made a little bit more special by adding a few packages. We think the Driving Assistance Professional package is worthwhile since it gives you hands-free driving capability under 40 mph and it's only about $1,000 more than the standard adaptive cruise control option. For a bit more luxury, check the box for the Executive package to gain access to ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, side window shades and the M5's slick-looking illuminated kidney grille.
