Amazing performance, terrible fuel economy
The performance, ride, comfort and amenities are all amazing. The car is fun to drive and fun to just sit in. There is a price to pay, though. Having all that power and torque on tap makes it too tempting to drive the car aggressively. But when you do, you'll get nowhere near the car's rated mpg estimate. I've only had mine a few weeks now and I'm getting around 15 mpg. Maybe that will improve once the initial thrill has worn off, maybe not.

What A Beauty
Guys , this 640i grand coupe fully loaded is a stunner on the road and sitting in my garage. Some guy in a Lexus GS wanted to play on the highway last weekend. I hit sport mode and sliced and him so bad, he will never forget he tried to get cute with the grande coupe. My wife could not understand what came over me. I told her its a guy thing. The grand coupe can park next to anything in the swanky part of town and look stunning. You get Comfort , luxury. Fuel Efficiency and sexy as a runway model. Don't let the online pictures fool you go have a look for your self. Kingc0mm

2016 640I
if not new buy it with atleast a little warranty left (or get a year or even 6 months if possible) and spend time driving, you'll find a myriad of little issues that can be very costly. Overall this is my favorite vehicle i've ever owned. I've had a couple of older volvos, an E36 BMW, 98 pathfinder, 2010 tundra, 2018 4runner & 2018 Infinity Q50S AWD. The quality, the feel, the torque, the look, the fit and finish, all are impeccable. The issues i had upon purchase were window motors, backup camera motor, seat cooling fans. Generally a lot of really small things that would have turned out to be ~8K if it wasn't still under warranty, i hope the small issues are all now fixed and replaced, but we shall see. That being said the drivetrain and braking system is incredible, i did not plan on trading in my 400 HP Q50S until i heard this car startup then got behind the wheel, i never even got back in my car, changed my world and have only great things to say about it since. I picked mine up with 36K miles and year of warranty left for 30K, what at that time was a 3 year old car that retailed for ~90K with options MSRP.

James bought a lemon
One bad BMW experience does not define a brand! I absolutely love this car. I've been driving BMWs for over 20 years and this is by far the best car I've ever driven. Performance, comfort, and high quality. The look and lines of the car are almost sensual..

Buyer Beware of BMW
- Infotainment System went out frequently while driving - SOS button malfunctioning frequently - Entire dash going out and coming back on while driving Trunk randomly opening when parked or before driving off (if you are fast enough to get in and lock doors, etc., it won't open. BMW was made aware of the problems but refused to do a Trade Assist Program on this faulty vehicle because of high mileage (29,000), amount still owed (only 12 months of payments) and repair attention not an emergency. Wife had same vehicle (except coupe) we bought one day apart, and they took it back (only constant brake problems and water leaks in the trunk (at 15,000 miles). I recommend steering clear of BMW, but if you still insist, stay away from 2014 640i Xdrive Gran Coupe.

Love this car!
I bought my 2014 640i x-drive in 2017 with 19,000 miles on it. I love its look and style. It gets its share of oohs and awhs. It gets good fuel economy, but I seldom drive it very hard. Unfortunately, I had to replace the head gaskit after only 58,000 miles. It rides pretty well for having low profile run-flat tires. Bottom line is that "I love this car!"
Love my car!
I own a 2016 650i M package. It’s black on black and AMAZING! I literally get the “hey nice car bro” compliment every time I go out. The suede interior headliner is so sexy. I dropped a 2000 watt EMS subwoofer in the back with a huge custom box. Bass hits hard! My friends call it the pussymobile. Some days I just stop and stare at it. Because it’s black the lines of the body don’t pop out all at once like a Camaro or something. The more you look at it the more you see the absolute beauty of it! Lines everywhere, beautiful yet powerful accents. The tea end of this car is powerful and beautiful! My friends all love how fast it is! And to be honest driving it really fast I’ve lost control and oversteered and yet somehow the car caught itself and saved the day more on its own more then once! I feel this car totally matches my personality. The rear seats are a little snug but with the fluffy beautiful black leather seats, no one’s ever complained. They are always just so amazed of the driving experience as I floor it!! I put love into my car but drive it like it was meant to be driven and the car loves it. I can also drive it slow in comfort + mode and it cruises and feels like luxury. Cons- I average around 12mpg. Mainly cause I floor it everywhere I go. The floor mats are all rubber.. and BMW doesn’t offer replacement mats if you wanted something nicer. I had to go on Amazon and get some aftermarket ones and it works. And it does drink oil. But other then that it’s a dream car! Also the price for the 2016’s dropped tremendously because people didn’t like the gas mileage. So new my car was $110k with the upgrades. But I bought it for only $40k in 2021. I tell everyone I bought it new for $110k and they don’t know the difference. Also this style never gets old. I’ve told everyone its a 2019 and they all believe it. Hope this helps you in buying the car. I would definitely go for the 650 and not the 640. If you can afford a BMW you shouldn’t care about gas mileage. Also the 650 twin turbo V8 is where it’s at! The 640’s inline 6 cylinder feels to weak for this cars body weight. Also I’ve added some exhaust and the V8 sounds EPIC! Not to mention all the features that come with this car. Heads-up display, launch control the list goes on and on! Cheers you guys and God Bless America! Trump 2024! <3

Like Every Beauty - There's always something
I really enjoy driving this car as it's quick, stylish and beautiful with both interior and exterior quality above most on the road. Keep in mind that this is big vehicle so quick is a relative, but in true BMW fashion the car will get you up to 80mph+ without you even being aware even in city traffic. However, there is a noticeable lag from the turbo and gas mileage borders on atrocious for this day and age when driven even just modestly aggressive. With that said, it's quiet and smooth at speeds of even 100mph. The I-Drive is far better than the old days and better than any I've used. Also, the rear seats fold down which increases the utility greatly and was one of the reason I decided to buy this model. The interior quality is among the best, although taller drivers and passengers will need to watch their heads as the car is low and wide both inside and out.So you get a gorgeous car, room for large items in the back (especially with the rear seats folded) as well as a wonderful touring car with front seats that will make your time in the car very comfy. All this for a mere $90K or so.... And that's where the rub is for me. Despite being treated with the M badging and upgraded package, my in line 6 cylinder still lacks fairly basic items like blind spot detection, intuitive cruise control, lane keep, upgraded stereo and the one that drives me crazy, a power trunk. The power trunk is not even an option, but adding these other items along with the accompanying, required packages and you're approaching $100K. In addition, I had to pay extra via aftermarket hack to have simple things like mirrors fold with remote, windows down with remote, auto engine shutoff disabled. Seems to me that even for the messily $87K that my car cost new it should really have these items. I am pretty sure the same year Honda Accord has more amenities. I mean, come on BMW. In short, love the way the car looks and drives, miss the gadgets, hate the value for price proposition.

2016 BMW 650i Gran Coupe De Excellence...
This car is luxurious, powerful and has lines and curves that are sexy and sensual. With options such as night vision, lane departure warning, etc., it keeps you alert, but these features do not intrude into the driving experience. The B & O stereo option is amazing - especially once you upload your own digital files. The handling is excellent for such a heavy car, and the ride is well tuned and depending on how you adjust your settings can range from supple to tight and fast. My car is red with a black interior, and I wouldn't have it any other way. To say it turns heads is an understatement. But, that all is secondary to the driving experience this car offers. My car has the m-sport package, and is loaded with all of the driving assistance goodies, as well as the aforementioned B & O stereo system. As equipped, I really cant imagine a better or more fitting car for me and my driving style. It's fast, handles great, has four doors and can fit four comfortably (five if you have tiny friends - the middle seat in the back really isn't suitable for a standard-size adult). I am very pleased with this car, and while I've only got 12,500 miles on it at this time, I look forward to many years of enjoyment. Yes, I'm aware of the maintenance and potential engine issues, but that is the cost of entry for this car. I greatly appreciate the design of this car, and cant stop looking at it. Time to go drive!
