The High Price Of Luxury.
For a German car that costs so much on initial purchase, It does not hold it value very long. If you like speed and tight performance, this could be the car for you. You feel every bump, crack and crannies in the road. The run flat tires with stiff sidewalls, adds to the performance level and harsh ride. The 2.0 liter turbo has plenty of get up and go upon request. The gas mileage was pretty good even while driving at 80 mph freeway speeds. You can hear the husky sound of the motor. Was not impressed with the purchase experience and readiness of the vehicle at pickup time. This soured my impression of BMW overall. The service department was unable to find a noise in the dashboard that was heard after a hard braking then accelerating. I usually don't buy the same brand twice.

Entry level luxury plus sporty performance
Simply put the best drivers car in this segment! I tried them all and this one feels the most connected to the road. Put it in sports plus mode and it becomes a different animal' Owned this car for over a year now. No mechanical issues. Still feels good. No noises or rattles to speak of. Still very happy with my choice. Just past the 2 year mark. Still happy with my choice . No mechanical problems. Low cost of ownership. All maintenance still covered. Great car!

320i
My first bmw ever. I drove 328i which is the same just the 320 has lower horse power and I drove a x5. The 320 is a great choice for a first timer buying a bmw it’s great on gas sport mode the car moves I bought it used with 28k and I’m at 35k I’m babying it because it’s a bmw and still expensive but for oil changes and brake pads for this bmw it’s cheap surprisingly. All around a few cons about the car no gps and stuff like that but if you want a car to last you a long time especially a bmw a 4 cylinder x drive will provide that I hope to have this car for years it’s fun to drive it’s reliable the secret to making a automatic transmission car last you is to use manual mode it saves you on gas as well and be up to date with oil changes and maintaining the car as you would with any other any bmw will last but with this 4 cylinder you have greater odds. Yeah plastic engine and all that bull crap as long as u don’t put to much strain on the engine this car will last over 100k depending on how u drive it and maintain it. Overall it’s a great car I wanna buy another car just so I don’t run the mileage up if you look at m series and any other bmw they all look the same just different body frame and the best part about it 320 is more reliable then any m series or 6 cylinder and up because the engine isn’t using a lot of power and parts as a 6 plus would.

Well, not so fast
I "upgraded" from a 328i 2008 to a 328i xdrive 2016, what a disappointment !! The 2016 is trash, a total waste of money, I miss my 2008 so much. This car sounds come from the speakers!! because the engine belongs in a civic, it's embarrassing to drive, if I could just return it I would, I have had bad cars in the past but this one beats them all, it belongs in a line of cars driven by people that don't like driving, DO NOT waste your money!! get you a 6 cylinder if you want to stay in love with the brand, this car is no longer a cut above or the "Driving Machine" they claim it is, not even close, it sounds like a sewing machine, don't say I didn't wan you !!

The critical safety issue warrants a one star
Leased the 2016 328i xDrive. Drive fine for two years or so until one day, the engine revved when stopped fully at a light, causing the car lurching forward, rear ending the car in front of me. This has been a known issue, BMW head engineer took weeks investigating blah blah blah, conclusion is nothing wrong. They won’t even let me end my lease early!! Note, my foot was on the braking, full stop, so naturally I let go of the brake, & the car just jumped forward, I immediately braked again but couldn’t hold it back. NEVER A BMW AGAIN.
