Bentley Good, but Not Great
By Roger Marchs on

2006 Bentley Continental GT 2dr Coupe AWD (6.0L 12cyl Turbo 6A)

The Bentley Continental GT is comfortable and darn fast. However too its console contains too many shared Volkswagen/Audi parts. Come on, for $165,000 I don't want the Audi controller, nor do I want two paired Volkswagen 6 cylinder engines bolter together for a total of 12. This is a pretty car and its very comfortable. It's almost great, but not quite there.

Best Features

I love the interior, 0-60 power and speed. The braking is pretty good for this type of weight. the handling is also acceptable.

Worst Features

It has a horrible exhaust note. The Pontiac Bonneville sounds better under 40 mph. Stop raiding the Volkswagen parts bin. An exclusive price should mean exclusive custom manufacturing.

I would never buy a new car let alone a Bentley. Why? Buy used and save 70% and still get nicer car for 60K than ANY new BMW or Mercedes. I love the Bentley GT even though it is a BIG car and drives like a boat. Still the luxury is second to none.
