WARNING TICKING TIMEBOMB!!!!
Do not buy this year and model! Audi has jist settled a class action lawsuit involving the timing chain. However, not all Q5s are included! There are some Q5s that have the same timing chain problem and no legal or official recourse. This means that WHEN you timing chain slips and wrecks you engine, you are stuck with a dud car and a $14,000 bill which audi will not fix. There are also certian VWs that have the same problem. Do you research and do not buy this model. Get a reliable Japanese car.

2.0 L is plenty fast
Very satisfied with our 2012 Q5. I would recommend the smaller engine to anyone. Very quick and plenty fast. Great gas mileage. The 8-speed must help that. My only grip about the engine is sound at idle when you are outside. It is only a sputter that comes out of the exhaust.

Very sorry I bought this car.
The Q5 is great but I've had a very bad experience with mine and can't give it a good review. The skylight shattered by itself in very cold weather, and the dealer told me it is a known issue with the 2012 Q5 in cold weather. The dealer has had the car for a month and its still not fixed. They say the skylight has to come from Germany and they can't get a correct replacement part. Rusnak says the'll make it up to me by giving me a couple of payments, but it doesn't really make up for the time lost. I bought the car because I wanted to drive it, and so far, it just hasn't worked out.
2103 Audi Q5 review
+The engineering is high quality. The workmanship and detail is very good. The bad is the sound quality. The panoramic roof makes a lot of noise and has been recalled going back to 2010. Had it fixed at dealership recently and is ok for now. Service writer cautioned that it could come back within a year or so. Another negative is that you are recommended to use high test gas. Supposedly because the car is a turbo and needs the extra octane. Plan on spending 25% more than if you could use just mid grade. Finally, the car tends to use oil. I was told that this is normal for these cars because they are designed to be used on highways (Autobahn) rather than in town driving. A quart or so every three or four months is not uncommon. On positive side, the car is a joy to drive and the resale is excellent.

One happy driver
Love my Q5 premium plus 2.0 turbo! I have owned it for 10 months and would not trade it for another SUV. Mileage is great and the drive is pure comfort. Bluetooth is wonderful if you NEED to talk. I would never get another vehicle without Bluetooth. A colleague is getting Q5 through a dealer swap in approximately 10 days.
