Better than the dealers can deal with
This car is incredible. No end to the smooth power, the transmission is very efficient, handling is awesome. My main point in this review is to let the readers know that the 97 model does need to have it's atf fluid and filter changed at 45000 miles, per the manual. That transmission oil and filter change is skipped by many dealers, as the later a8 transmissions don't call for it. It makes a huge difference in the smoothness and performance of the transmission, and probably the transmission's life. It's living history, somday to share the pantheon with the Jaguar 120 and the likes of the Cobra.
Love the Car...hate the maintenance cost
This is really the finest of cars. I love the performance, comfort, and driving characteristics. The only issue is the exorbinate price of repairs. Driven entirely by Audi's excessive prices. The screw in replacement antenna cost over $150 (dealer is only place to get part). You will love the car, but expect to pay ($$$) for that love!
Biggie sized A4
I enjoy the high-speed crusing at 85-90. It is quite, refined, and solid, with more than enough power available at highway speeds. You can drive for extended miles on the highway and arrive relaxed. The large fuel tank will allow you to go over 600 miles before refilling, but your bladder probably won't last that long without a stop. A used A8 is a much better value than a new A4 for the same dollars.
Will buy another one
The best car I have ever owned, including all of the luxury (production) models
A Great Sedan
I great handling performance sedan that deserves high ratings, including excellent fuel economy at any speed. Depreciation is a bummer, so getting a used model is the best value play.
