A3 is a fun car

I have had my A3 for a month now and love it. Tons of power and is fun to drive, front power seats are very comfortable. the car was a new 2015 still on the lot and I got 8 grand off sticker and the dealer CPO it for 100K 6 year warranty as part of the deal as Audi had started the ticker on the base warranty 3 months ago. The trunk is a little small and I have to open the middle back seat to fit my golf clubs. I have a hard time keeping it under 80 on the high as I travel a lot, the speed alarm helps.

Don't buy this car

I purchased this car certified use 10 months ago. It only had 15k miles on it when purchased. Since then, I had to replace the battery twice. Had a coolant leak, and that repair for parts and labor was $1200.00 overall, being my first Audi purchase, this has given me enough to say that I won't he owning this car over a year or ever purchasing an Audi ever again. This is the cars 3rd replaced battery and Audi has told me that doing short drives can drain the battery since it's turbo? How odd.

Uncomfortable rear seats with no leg room. AC is not as powerful as it should be and will not cool off your passengers in the rear seats. There has been a tapping noise coming from the sunroof which the dealership cannot seem to locate. They stated that this is normal due to the new models all glass sunroof. Experienced a loud whistling noise coming from the ac, Talk about embarrassment. The dealer said there was tree leaves. Lol. Less than a year with this car and already went in to have the ignition switch completely replaced. ( key is removed yet still recognizing a key in the ignition, if you don't pay attention your interior and exterior lights will stay on and your battery will drain) The brakes have started to roll which makes me weary if I ever am in a jam. This has got to be the biggest headache known to man. At less than 11,000 miles my check oil light went on, I'm not sure this was a wise decision. It's time to breakup!

Had the car for four months, dealership had it for half that time. Power window issues that couldn't be fixed (charged me each time as if warranty didn't exist). Shaking at certain speeds (40mph and then again at 60mph), dealership told me I had to buy four new wheels...and that didn't fix it. Nav didn't work for days on end for some reason and then randomly started working again. One of the worst cars I've ever owned. Don't be fooled with how great this car looks because it is an overpriced piece of junk. I ended up trading it in to be rid of it because it was leeching my time, money, and sanity.

This was a quick decision, stop gap car as I needed something quickly. Originally I wanted a Golf R but couldn't find one at the right price point. Criteria were AWD, fast, leather interior and moonroof. I would never have considered the sedan A3 (have never owned a sedan before, always Wagons and hatches) but I am glad I did. I have been really impressed. This was a 2015 2.0T Quattro model on CPO with 33k that I got for 21k before taxes. I thought it was a fair deal for a clean car with new tires, full service book and one owner. First of all, looks: I loved the original 1997 A3 and this looks like it a little bit. Tight, timeless and classic style. Looks great in darker colors. Has a lot of brightwork which makes it look a bit dated but overall, a nice car that people think is new even though it is 4 years old. High quality interior: The leather is tough and hardwearing and surfaces are very nice to touch, there is nice trim (aluminum) and the machined knobs are a nice touch. Performance is GREAT. This car has 220 BHP and is relatively light so it really goes very nicely. Engine noise is subdued but the engine starter and transmission are both very whiny/loud when the car is cold. Worst aspect of the car is how it sounds in low gears first thing in the morning. Like a CVT. Ride is fine and handling OK if a bit conservative. Realiability has been so so in 4 months: Had to have the coolant system replaced under warranty and the door locks stopped working. Both covered by Audi with zero cost and a courtesy car. Overall a nice city/commuting car and one I would be fine running longer distance in. Opt for the premium stereo. Skip the navigation and use Waze.
