A good car. but don't get it serviced by the dealer, Acura will call you over and over to question you about the service, I called the local dealer and they could not get me off the call list. Well, if you go local don't give your phone number. Otherwise a great car, but the trunk could have better lighting, awesome sound system though.

I shopped several cars within the luxury and near luxury class. I can break the survey down four ways: Price Dependent, Price Independent, Performance Real World and Performance All Out: Price Dependent: Excellent Price Independent: Very Good Performance Real World: Excellent Performance All Out: Very Good Roll in resale value and maintenence, and the TL should be a "must drive" for anyone shopping in this class.

How to avoid an Acura TL by any means necessary

A complete piece of a crap for a vehicle ! Right off the bat make sure you have as much money on hand in order to maintain it because I have had trouble right off the bat the transmission went kaput after twenty one days ,and to get a new transmission was an uphill battle because I had to pay eighteen hundred dollars ,and when I got the car back the next thing went out was the starter ,and battery ,and had to replace it , the next month it was the alternator ,and yet another battery cause the pep boys battery was a horrendous piece of crap ! But I digress! A year went by ,and did the regular maintenance like change the oil ,and brakes ,and thats when the brake boosters ,the rack ,and pinion ,and the rotors went to hell at the same time .......say goodbye to my tax refund all $2800. Still the brakes were not completely what they were ,and then there was the hands on system which one of the idiot mechanics turned on which pissed me off cause I didn't want that on ,and lo- an behold my battery started to drain ,and thus another catastrophe that pep boys did to me but they cant claim responsibility for their actions ,and as well as four alternators ,six batteries , and then a year and a half later boom my transmission went straight to hell again ,and they told me that they were frazzled on what happened ,and knowing my luck it was not 1800 dollars no it became a damn near a 5000 dollar issue . Then there is the radio when one changes the battery your radio goes to hell ,and thus a call to acura another 100 dollars that they want to charge me ,and thus another six times ,and on the sixth time the radio goes to the same place like my hopes and dreams to hell ,and acura was willing to replace the radio but for 1400 dollars i told them to go eat the radio id rather hear the noise in the calm orlando traffic ! and speaking of it my a/c which i love to hate so much because the a/c system went warm of all the times in the dead of summer ,and it was the compressor ,and also the system itself asked acura ,and they happily told me it was for 3600 dollars i told them i'd rather sweat cause i weigh 290 i can use the sweat session in order to lose weight ! All in all my recommendation , if you want luxury buy yourself an infiniti , or you know what avoid any honda, or acuras all together .

Have owned for two months. I'm used to sports cars (MBZ, Porsche 911, Infiniti G-35) but having a baby so needed something more "family" like. It's a bit underpowered but has decent pickup - mileage is lacking - handling is pretty smooth but not excellent. So far, so good.

Review: Fell in love with this car when I bought it now I CANNOT STAND IT, all within less than 6 months! Why? Rattles, Rattles, and more Rattles Misaligned body parts, especially trunk that rubs and has paint chipped off and rust on it! Very poor water based paint used. Chips started on drive home from dealer and haven't stopped. Paint mottling (swirling on doors) uneven paint application at factory! Looks like an army camouflage vehicle under certain lights! Cheap leather on seats that has more wrinkles than a 120 year old lady's face. Wrinkle in seat within first 500 miles and it only gets worse. If you get black its gets even better! DASHBOARD FADES TO A MILKY WHITE COLOR! ALL TLs DO IT

After owning only European cars for the past 10 years (Audi, BMW, MB) I decided to give the Acura TL a chance. Although I was impressed by the lower cost, I've realized that the extra cost goes into the details. After about a year of ownership, I've noticed that the TL just can't match the attention to detail, high-speed performance, and material quality of German competitors (e.g., interior materials, ambient lighting inside, intelligent design in small details, etc.) I think every manfacturer has a competency, and the TL is relatively comfortable, luxurious, and performs relatively well, but doesn't excel like those offered by Euro car makers.

AS an owner of a 2002 TL I can't begin to tell you how disapointed I am in the 2006 model. If your a big fan of chep leather, plastic and tin you will love the interior. The ride is poor the performance disapointing. When compared to the 2002.

Yes, its an acura. It has the bells and whistles. But this car has one TERRIBLE problem. The battery dies. CONSTANTLY. There no amount of comfort and convenience to compensate for this cars unreliability. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Nice looking fast car. Shopped BMW 325,Infiniti G35 & M35, Toyota Avalon, Lexus IS 250 & Audi A4 & A6. Acura TL is best bang for the buck. My other car is 97 Infiniti I30 & I can feel the difference in acceleration with the TL. No feeling of understeer or oversteer from FWD. Ride is a little crunchy over bumps but the car launches like a rocket at 3000 rpm & good brakes. Had it for ~ 3 mos & no problems & NO RATTLING WHATSOVER.

Picked up my wife's '06 TL on Saturday, 3/25. Black, camel interior, navi and six speed. The car is a beauty. We broke her in with a 300-mile city (Manhattan), highway (I 95) drive. First impressions: the six-speed is very slick. Brembos work as advertised. Navi is mighty interesting: "GW Bridge Upper Level." Wow. Still, I have to do my homework on this device to really understand its capabilities. Suspension is solid, couldn't detect any torque steer on such a short sample. Quiet cabin, comfortable seats. XM Radio sounds pretty good through the standard hifi. So far, so good.

I purchased this vehicle because of the rating/ review I read on Consumer's Report and other sources. After about ten months now, I can say that--at least in my case--it does not meet my expectations in a number of areas. 1. Annoying vibrations when accelerating; 2. Bad BLIND SPOT on right rear (passenger) side; 3. Keyless entry problems--especially with trunk; 4. Potential electrical problem--ex: windows sometimes open spontaneously; 5. Substantially less MPG than advertised (though, I imagine this is the same problem with many vehicles). 6. Brake Handle not covered properly; allows items to fall into crevice. 7. AC fan automatically sets to MAX when turn on fan, defroster, etc

This is a superb car for the money. It beats german competition hands down when you compare all the features and the price you pay for them. The ride is extremely smooth. Automatic transmission shifts flawlessly and acurately, The sound system is awesome along with interior lighting. It is roomy enough for five adults or two car seats in the back (for those interested). Navigation system is wonderful and easy to use, especially when voice-activated. There is always room for improvement, however. For the life of me I don't understand why the car doesn't have day time running lights (and automatic lights on for that matter). Also, outside mirrors aren't monochromatic.

Just got it and drove it 120 miles from the dealership home. I did a great deal of research before buying. Having owned two Honda Accords I expected better quality and amenities. Got it all in the Acura. I really like the handling, ride and the electronics! This car is a wonderland for a technophile. It is like driving a sports car while is the comfort of a wonderfully equipt personal hideaway. I cannot imagine wanting more. What a bargain and what a great ride. My Black on Black TL will likely sell me on my next one in two years. After compairing Lexus and Infinity the TL was a no brainer for me. So much more for your bucks.

I previously drove a 2002 BMW 330i premium/sport. After owning the car for four years I grew weary of the hard ride and the expensive repairs. Though I do miss rear wheel drive, the TL has been a great car so far. All the electronic features are amazing. Bluetooth, Navi, voice recognition, all work perfectly. The car is considerably more comfortable than the BMW. Good power. Average about 25MPG. No noticeable torque steer which is typical to front-wheel drive cars.

I purchased a 2006 White Diamond Pearl, 6SP NAV. with Parchment interior. In addition to this I added a wood grain steering wheel, both front and rear wood consoles and full ground effects with rear wing spoiler. My OTD price was 35028 and I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase!!! What and incredible car!! A decision (2)years in the making. I researched and test drove a Audi A4 2.0, BMW 330I, Acura TSX and Subaru Legacy GT Limited and just kept coming back to the TL. My only concern was the torque steer issue which always seemed to come out of every review I read up until this year! Of what I now experience this has been addressed is non-existant. Terrific Car and has it all.

Traded an 02 S60 T5. Turbo lag and no back seat was main reason. TL seems to be a great car for the money. Exceeded my expectations. Handling is great, firm suspension, flat cornering, good acceleration although low end needs more torque. I would recommend the TL over the other cars in this price range. Great value.

This is my fourth Acura and the best yet. The ride is perfect ( I like hard ride) the interior design and the nav system are all top notch. You can't get a better value in the entry luxury class. I was thinking of changing to a Lexus ES 350, but the cost was $100 more per month with less features.

I love cars, but I hate when they break. My last BMW spend more time in for service than it did in my garage! This thing isn't quite as fun as a 330i, BUT IT DOES NOT BREAK! Plus, I can't complain about 31 mpg with cruise set at 80 mph! You do have to run premium if you want optimum horsepower and MPG. Go with the manual transmission and dump the stock all season tires and you can't go wrong. Couldn't justify spending two grand on a nav system when I can read maps, so I didn't order that. The upgraded Brembo brakes that come with the manual version are simply amazing, but pedal modulation could be a little easier at the top of tip in. So comfortable on any road, find some twisties and enjoy!

I recently bought my 06 TL and love it!! I will stick with Acura from here out! I gladly traded in my 06 Mercedes CLK( it broke down two weeks into purchase!) for the TL and am happier then ever... Even though these are very diff cars ( luxury vs sport) the clk just does not compare at all!!! TL has all the power and looks comp to clk plus a whole lot more! And most are standard. Beautiful car, beautiful performance and it will definitely outlast a Mercedes! Love love love my TL!

I have had the 06 TL four weeks. Lots of improvements from my 02 3.2 TL. Love the exterior design and the interior, seats are excellent. Great pickup. The Navigation system is OUTSTANDING. Wish I had it on my 02. You got to really work on the verbal communications with the navigation system. Looked at the Toyota Avalon, Lexus ES- 330, Infinite GX-35, BMW-3, and the TL was the clear winner. Quality is excellent at this price point. The wife loves the car, too. I like the trip computer and the ease in changing the key fob settings. Much improved over the 02. The TL performance and driving experience is outstanding. Great automobile.

Easy to own/maintain Acura/Honda quality product. Drive significant miles (30-40K/yr)and have driven a new vehicle every 18 mos for the last 10 years. This one is by far the best and most fun. Moves past and/or around any situation on the highways, fun in on off ramps. Avg. 28 MPG overall! At $3+/gallon.......that's nice! Perfect blend of Luxury/Sport/Economy. Smart car to buy.

This is teh second TL that I have had and I love teh new voice activated nav and sound system. Combine this with Blue tooth technologoy you can leave your hands on the wheel the whole time you drive. Excellent performance for a 3.2 L, good exhausts sound and the Michelin tires are better than the Bridgestone. I would buy this car again especially if they could squeeze in a V8

I have been waiting 2 years to get a TL. I have been watching this car since it came out in 2004. Researched and test drove all of the other's 325i, G35, C230, ES330 and others. This car is the flat out best car for your money. The car drives like a dream no rattles and it is FAST. The Navi is awesome and voice recognition is very cool. You can say "go home" and the car will calculate the best way home. Love the interior quality, leather is plush and cushy. Interior layout is advanced but not overwhelming. Love the LED blue lighting. If your looking for a car with great features test drive a TL you'll want to buy one.

Bought my TL last week and have put 300 miles on it. Also considered the Lincoln Zephyr (dropped it-the hp and performance was below par for this class and it will be replaced this Oct.by a car with more HP and all wheel drive option-too late for me!)the Avalon-too big and boxy for me and it has major reliability issues, the Cadillac CTS-rear wheel drive only turned me off, and the BMW 325xi. Like all wheel drive, but it was much smaller and lacked the acceleration of the TL, plus it lacked the NAV, sound system and other features of the TL at a lower price. I am 6'7" tall and weigh close to 240 pounds, so interior room was important to me. Space up front is ample.

Chose the 2006 TL after extensive research and after 1500 miles I think it,s a very good but not excellent car.Sure the look, the nav., the audio, are all very nice but the important issues are the dynamic and handling qualities. Here goes:It is fast, powerful, corners well when dry, shifts smoothly, and fun to drive. Now the negatives: Front wheels spin too easily on take off, torque steer is moderate, only fair in rain and snow, turn circle poor.

Nice Car, Only 6000 miles and it already has problems. Window Buttons are falling off and it makes sqeeky noices inside, which is distracting. ALso, it takes to long to get the item repaired. Been waiting a month and it is still is not fixed. Besides the these problems, very nice looking car and it drives and handles very well on the freeway. The moonroof is nice but it can not be opened on the freeway as to much air noise but it very nice in the city.

I thought I had a good car. No such luck. First the steering wheel was aligned crooked and the ride is horrible. The ride is too rough and bumpy. You feel it on smooth roads and it shakes the car on rough roads. I thought the tires were out of balance but after 3 times in the shop, no improvement. Mine is a 2006 and I am going to trade it in for a rear wheel drive car. No more Acuras for me

I've only owned two other Acuras, RSX's before this TL. Being about $12,000 more it is so worth the extra money and bigger monthy payment. The car has class is very well designed and has plenty of power on tap if needed. Its also has a really great, thought-out interior, everything is within reach. Its very quiet and the sound system is awsome! Buy this car you will not regret it. I plan to get at least 10+ years from it.

The 2006 TL might not have all the features available on other luxury cars, but I believe they did that to keep the price down, which allows people lie me to afford it. I considered many other cars, in fact I was shopping for about 6 months, but in the end the TL was the best I could get for my budget. I got my 06 Navi for 32,100, which I thought was a great price for the car. And after driving it for 6K I still believe it is the perfect car for me. It is not the best at just one thing, but it accels at almost everything. The combination of engine, gas milage, stlying, interior room, trunk space, amenities, technology, reliability, fun factor and price make it the best car for its class!

I bought a 2006 in Feb of 2009 and I love it! Best driving car I've owned, even compared to a luxury sports car I have. A mechanic I know described it as "the car that you feel one with when you drive it!", and he's exactly right. Smooth, beautiful, easy ride, without being cushy or boring. In other words it has great road feel in a good way, but is not hard...it's nimble, agile, firm but smooth as silk. Beautiful interior....open & airy, with classic sleek styling and perfect ergonomics. This is a lovely car, inside and out. A lot of comfort, luxury and style for the price range. Only been two months but so far so good....Loved it instantly upon first test-drive and even more now!

I have the 2006 TL as a company car and have over 30k miles on it so far, so I think I can give a pretty fair assessment. First, it has a lot more interior room than it looks. Plenty of room for 6 footers in the rear sets. Power and handling are great, as is the overall styling of the car. My one complaint is that the bluetooth phone interface picks up so much ambient noise that it's almost unuseable. I think the mic needs to be closer to the driver. That would fix the problem. The seats are great, but the interior is not as quiet as a Lexus ES 330. The ride is a tad on the harsh side, but still quite good. And the NAV system is the best out there.

I've only had the car for 2 months now. I've made my selection based on total overall value, with specific focus on long term retention. I've had my Dodge PU for 8 years; I plan to keep both the Dodge and TL for 8 more.

I have liked this car since its introduction in '04. I have 2000 miles on it already. The seats are comfortable and the controls are easy to reach and work with. You can't beat the value of this vehicle. For $35k sticker, you get everything. I compared BMW, but the 325xi comparably equipped was about $40k sticker. Lexus is difficult, b/c you have to order option packages and hope you can find the car you want.

I upgraded from a 1997 Civic to a 2006 TL. It's been 6 months since I bought it and the initial shock of driving something 1) that worked and 2) that is fast has worn off. However, the fun I have driving it has not died. There are times I wish I was in sales just so I can drive it around. Although, I'm pretty sure it's quickness and nibleness will probably get me a ticket at some point. I love this car. I try to tell everyone I know to get one. I loved my Honda and now I love my Acura. You just can't go wrong with that company. On a side note, I have to say the dealership I went through was amazing. I've never thought of buying a car as a pleasant experience. They were great!

We just picked up our new TL after months of agonizing research. The car is everything we hoped it would be. I bought it for $100.00 over invoice at Criswell Acura in Annapolis, Maryland. Very professional (and amusing) staff. Car was well prepped and they explained everything to us. So well, we were even able to use the Navigation system on the first try.

One thing I love about TL is that there are only two option... Nav/Or No Nav.Great Interior design and bundled technology. Just wishing that they have a RWD or AWD version.

The TL is a good buy for the money and should prove to be a reliable car. However, it's not as an exciting car to drive as I had hoped. Seat adjustments are not quite suited for a 6'2" frame, exterior body construction is not as substantial as it first appears, XM signal quality is poor on most channels (I probably will not subscribe because of that when the free trial priod is up), Bluetooth is subpar. I had narrowed my choices down between the G35 and the TL and the TL won out on interior build quality. In the end, the G35 would likely have been a better choice all around.

I've had a Maxima for 4 years and had every intention of getting an '06. I drove the Mazda Speed 6, a handful of SUVs, the '06 Maxima and finally this TL. By far, the TL is the best vehicle for the money and a significant upgrade against the competition. The low-end torque is a plus over the Maxima. The build quality is truly in cut above the rest (at least in my snack bracket). For me, the blend of luxury and performance are what attacted me to the car and keep me smiling. Can't believe this is a base vehicle with no options!

Just bought the 06 TL Manual with Nav over the 4th of July weekend and I LOVE IT! I swore I would never buy a brand new car but these hold their value so well, stupid to buy an 05 for $30,000 when you can spend another $3,000 and get the brand spanking new!

Nice Ride

The TL is a find car. Some minor trim misalighnment on the passenger door at delivery. A few minor rattles that went away in the dash and door. Some complain about the ride is to rough. I think it is fine for a sports sedan with 45 series tires. Check tire pressure folks. I would recommend this car. I bought at thousand dollars over cost...a very good deal. I had a previous TL-S and this is a big improvement in features, handling, comfort, and the design of the body and interior.

I really love my Acura, it has power to spare, and turns well. I am a little disappointed in the styling of the rear of the car. I think they need to address this isssue, and make a TL that looks a bit more intimidating

Just bought this 06 with ten thousand miles. Great car, ample power, a little too fun to drive, (hard to get where you are going when you never want to get out of the car), sleek design. After researching I found that this car holds its value better than ANYTHING in its class, beats Mercedes and BMW, and offers so much more with Honda reliability. Rear visibility is not good, thinking the back up sensors may be worth the money considering what bumpers cost. People complain of the back end design of the car so I added a spoiler, looks great. Got it for my 45th birthday, great investment for the young at heart.
