Used 2004 Acura MDX Touring AWD 4dr SUV w/Nav (3.5L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
It's the best SUV
This is the best SUV on the market. Here are my only complaints: The switch for the sunroof is located to the left of the drivers wheel. Passenger can not control the sunroof. The other annoying thing is the clock, located on the radio which most times is not readable. They should either locate it in the instrument cluster or make it bright so I don't need glasses to see the time. It would be nice to make a time button on the Navigation screen.
Solid SUV
Great, solid vehicle. Comfortable on a long trip, wide stance gives a very stable ride, bigger inside than it looks. Lot's of power. Don't know about the lackluster interior comments from some reviewers, but it is functional and fine with me. Only complaint I have is the gearshift could be better designed and easier to move between gears. Not as "off road" as my Jeep, but it doesn't claim to be. Also, I wouldn't buy it if I had to use it to tow much weight.

DONT BUY!! READ MY REVIEW
I bought a used mdx 2004. I thought if I had to buy an older vehicle Acura would be the way to go. Boy was I wrong. I've had it 2 months and now going on my third YES I SAID 3RD transmission in this piece of absolute JUNK ! The navigation doesn't work, Acura wants big money to fix it, heated seat no,longer works. Acura KNOWS ABOUT THEIR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND DO NOTHING TO HELP THE OWNERS OF THEIR JUNK VEHICLES. Do NOT BUY AND MDX OF ANY YEAR.

I drove the MDX to Loas Angeles a week after purchase. Mileage was 24 mpg, over rated amount. Performance was much better than my previous SUV. Actually recieved higher mileage than any tank in prior SUV and longer range than prior vehicle.
A reliable boat of a car
I bought this car in 2014 with 110k miles and it's now at 210k miles. I was the second owner of the car. Pros: Comfort: I've gone on a lot of road trips and this is by far one of the most comfortable cars to be in. Wide spaces on the driver seat knees and excellent seat adjustment. Can fit a double bed in the trunk. I've comfortably napped when reclining the drivers seat. Space: Lots of trunk space, easy to seat 7 people, or load a bunch of sports gear Quiet: The interior is quiet even at high speeds and has great acoustics. Snow performance: The AWD actually works really well. I've been in deep snow a few times with all weather tires and the MDX managed to push through (albeit begrudgingly). Of course its taller center of gravity means you'll be spinning a bit more on icy patches but the electronic stability control is assertive when it needs to be. Cons: Not great gas mileage: For an SUV of its size and in the early 2000s the mpg would be considered pretty great but after the 2010s and with the rising price of gasoline 19-20mpg has started to approach unforgivable range (especially with premium fuel) Seat exterior: The leather had started to crack around 150k miles around the driver seat and then around the rest of the seats as well. Size of car: One of its biggest assets is also one of the biggest disadvantages. Tough to park in the city due to its wide body, significant body roll on mountain roads and U-turns are annoying with the long turn radius. It was perfect for as an inexpensive, comfortable and safe vehicle right after college to shuttle friends to the beach or mountain and commute short distances. I'm replacing it with a newer Rav4 or Honda hybrid.
