2012 Toyota Prius v Two 4dr Wagon (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I just bought a Prius v Five and it is a great car.
We have 2 kids and their stuff to carry.
It has the size of a SUV (like CR-V) but the fuel economy beats any SUV by a wide margin.
We got 40 mpg in mostly city without any hypermiling.
My wife do a lot of city driving, so hybrid is great.
I tested both the regular Prius and v.
The v is more comfortable to drive too.
It is very quiet and has good ride.
But you need to expect it to be slow and there will be some adjustment on driving style.
In city, the power is fine as the electric motor has power instantly.
But you really need to step a lot of gas to merge to busy highway and pass others.
Favorite Features
1) Hybrid with great mileage.
2) Big cargo space.
3) Smart Key.
4) Quiet and good ride.
5) HD radio.
6) Bluetooth phone and iPod/Phone connectivity has great quality and is easy to pair.
You can also separate phone and music player connection.
Suggested Improvements
1) Entune app is not very useful.
Should be free for life of the car.
The sound quality from the Pandora app is worse than Pandora bluetooth stream directly from my iPhone.
2) Privacy glass on rear windows.
3) Should have leather/softex steering wheel.
Also, arm rest should be leather/softex.
4) Power lift gate.
5) Premium sound and sunroof shouldn't be bundled in super expensive package.
Yesterday, we purchased a Prius V Wagon Model three 2012 for $ 25,547.00 before tax, lic and doc fee at Toyota of Walnut Creek.
This was an internet quote and we found it the cheapest of all other quotes.
Internet Sales Manager Jhimbo was very helpful.
No hassles what so ever.
Good luck with your shopping for a new prius
The cost for Prius V model three 2012 was $ 600.00 less than the Truecar price.
So quote your asking price accordingly for your Prius V package 5.
Again good luck.
Also watch out for the warranty, maintenance etc they will try to sell you after you to come an agreement with your car price.
Look for Toyota Extra Car warranty on line print their quote and bring it to dealer if you intend to purchase one, the cost is almost half of the dealer quote.
So will save a lot of money.
We drove our Prius V for about 50 miles and love it so far, it was quite an experience down sizing from Honda Odyssey (a gas guzzler).
Hope to save a lot on the gas.
