From previous discussion, it seems that it is safer to do transmission fluid drain, not transmission flush. So, today I visited Midas and they said that they need "Genuine Isuzu Transmission fluid."   I have a 2004 Isuzu Axiom with 65K miles that has frequent hesitations while I just cruzing down the road, mostly in the 50 -60 MPH range. Slight but very noticable. Any ideas out there would be very welcomed.

Based on your description, it sounds like what you are actually talking about is the Anti-theft and Keyless Entry Controller Unit, which as you mention is not a standard item, but an optional accessory.   2004 Isuzu Axiom engine immobilizer transponder key system. I would like to disconnect this system so I can easily install a remote start system. Does anyone know of any electrical diagrams for the Axiom? Also I would like to install a switch that would bypass the TOD system and keep the front axle engaged. Thanks !

  Oil gets pretty dark pretty quick in normal use, so I don't know if you can tell much of anything about it just by looking at it. The Dark Oil Myth. It's supposed to hold "dirt" in suspension. You may want to get an oil analysis sometime and see what the lab says about your oil and engine. They cost around $20.

  Have been looking for a new vehicle and the Honda Pilot is ok but I don't like AWD, would rather have 2WD. Saw an Axiom on the road and loved the styling. Saw on the web site that it comes 2WD but noticed only in 2004, no 2005s!. Wish Isuzu wasn't in the shape it is in, I would buy one.

  I really like the looks of the Axiom. There are some really great deals. Lots of 2003's and some 2004's. Is it worth spending the extra for the 2004? Isuzu claims the only vehicles with direct injection under $100,000.00. Is this good or bad? What other vehicles have this system? Also, if they stop prodution, will the 7/70 waranties be worthless?   I saw 2004 Axiom S and 2004 Rodeo on autoshow. Both with 3.5l DI engine. Both show transmission made in Japan and it has a dip-stick now, so my guess it not GMs 4l30 anymore.
