The '93 del Sol came in two trim levels- S, which shared mechanicals with the Civic DX/LX and the Si, which had the engine/transmission from the Civic EX/Si. For example, my 1991 Dodge came with 195/70-14 tires, but an alternate size listed on the door sticker was 205/60-15 (which of course required new 15 inch wheels). These two tires have the same outside diameter so the speedometer and odometer would read the same. 195/70-14 OD in inches = (195 mm)(1 in/25.4mm)(0.7)(2) + 14 = 24.74 in ... Read More

I've had zero problems with my car, aside from an occasionally squeaky driver's side window. I owned a 1991 Accord until sometime in 2000. In the last two years, the brakes would wear down quickly. The front wheel bearings locked up, and I had to replace a CV boot. All of this was at the 8-9 year mark. For the most part, I was very happy with it. I'm glad you ... Read More

Total out the door after 6% taxes and fees, etc. was $15,500. $ 14,500 price including destination + 870 tax + 72 reg/title fee + 91.50 doc fee = 15,533.50 Good deal and a very pleasurable experience from David Michael Honda in Freehold, NJ. Is not refinement. Hondas have always been lighter and noisier than the competition but the noise didn't scream "cheap". Drive a 1996-2000 Civic/Integra and those rear wishbones are kinda noisy. LX models have always had drum brakes and EX models have had drum brakes in non ABS models since 1991. The diameter of the wheels have very little to do with refinement. Especially in cars of this size. What's the real ... Read More

Well, just to throw in my two cents worth: I have one of the much-belly-ached-about 2001 Civics, and I must say that out of the three Hondas I have owned and purchased new ( others were: 1991 Civic DX hatchback, 1995 Accord EX sedan) this latest one has been the best assembled and least 'troublesome' out the door of the three. None has had any mechanical problems, but all except the ... Read More

I think it has one of the smoothest 5-speeds Honda has ever made. The rally style shifter is great. The seats provide great support. But the handling is a real disappointment. But if you look at the problems that the Civic had they are all insignificant and relatively inexpensive to fix compared to the car's value. The Hyundai on the other hand has costly repairs that cost more than the car is worth. Example: 1991-1993 Honda Civic's ... Read More

If this is a 3-4 year fling, OK, go with your heart. If it's a 150-200K mile journey, buy a Honda. Of course, the Honda will still require maintenance, and Honda ... Read More
