Mine 1999 F250 Larit with V10. Problem Taking off whole drive train shook and power was low. After computer dianostics we had 1 coil bad and replaced some of both fuel and return fuel lines. fuel line filter. now runs super. hit switch and it starts on first rotation and purs.
Sandy, I have tthe sme problem with a 1999 F250. Mechanic thought it might be Fuel Pump. Replaced Pump (expensive) but problem is still there. Starts and runs ok until I stop. after a short time while temp is up it will start but runs very poorly. Let me know if you find a solution
When I bought truck used form dealership in 2006 I jsut got one keyless remote. At time we could not get the ford alarm system to disengage so I lived with the one remote until 2 months ago when I lost the remote. Hope somebody can help with this. F-250 super duty 1999 diesel 4x4 260,000 miles. Truck dies while driving or idling any length of time and sometimes won't start. Try to start it and the "wait to start engine" light doesn't come on and won't start; wait about 10 minutes and "start engine light" comes on and truck starts. Great post and great pictures. I may well buy a new F250 diesel. I just cannot get over how ugly the new trucks are. I loved the old Ford and Chevy trucks. I am hanging onto my 1999 Suburban, no matter what I buy for a truck.
I must say I'm partial to the Ford 7.3 PSD and now the 6.0 PSD because I'm on my 3rd since 1999, but the biggest reason I keep coming back to Ford is resale values. Chevy and Dodge can't sell their diesels at least in the South w/o 0% for 60 months most of the year. This destroys the resale of any vehicle that offers it. In my opinion Chevy and ... Read More
Mr. Maige, The prochure that I have from on the 6.0 PSD specifies cast iron as the cylinder head material. I test drove a 6.0 PSD with the new Torqshift transmission today in a Super duty F250 Crew Cab With a long bed. I have always purchased GM products as I am most attracted to drivetrain power.
