2024 Volvo XC60 Consumer Reviews

Gorgeous Swede
The XC60 B5 Core AWD Dark is a sight to behold. There isn't a more beautiful mid-sized SUV on the road today. And with its white metallic exterior and charcoal interior, this SUV is visually stunning. However it's more than just eye candy. Its mild hybrid motor fills in the performance gaps of turbo charged engines, rendering acceleration to be as smooth and linear as those non-turbo engine vehicles, only faster. Even though the interior of the XC60 Core is fabric, it looks and feels as luxurious as fine leather interiors on found in other luxury car interiors. The instrumentation is so superbly crafted, that one would be fooled by its minimalist design that the XC60 is devoid of any of the modern features seen in other cars. I can assure you, this is not he case. It's apparent that Volvo engineers have put in a lot of thought into designing the XC60, and beneath the surface of its minimalist interior and instrumentation, this car packs a power house of technology and features. My only disappointment is that I didn't get one sooner.

Simplified Luxury…with some quirks
Overall, I am very pleased with my 2024 XC60 Plus trim. I love the vehicles minimalist design language, especially the interior and its tasteful mixture of high-end materials. It has many nice features that you would expect in a luxury vehicle, but it also notably misses a few - no powered steering wheel adjustment or wireless charging seem like unusual omissions, especially the latter. Lack of wireless apple car play is also unfortunate. The infotainment system is also fairly basic in functionality and customization, and the app-based approach to everything means lots of menus and sub-menus - although use of Google Assistant helps mitigate this to a degree. The ride quality is a bit rough/firm, especially at highway speeds so I would definitely recommend test driving on more than just side roads. Overall I think most owners will be happy with this vehicle, but it’s not without its shortcomings.

Great car but some features take the edge off.
Just bought the XC60 Plus. Overall we really like the car. Quiet, smooth ride, Plenty of power. However there are a few minor issues that are surpising on a $53,000 car. Really liked the optional booster seat. 1. Base stereo is disappointing. Lack of bass and no balance or fade control. Would have liked the Harmon Kardon but it wasn't on the car I liked. A simple sub woofer would make the difference. 2. Cannot load Pandora app but this may be more of a problem with Pandora. 3. Infotainment system is busy. Requires a lot of switching between screens. Requires a manual button for stereo. 4. Park button is not easy to engage. Sometimes fails on first press. 5. No additional recline on back seats. Thats about it. Overall really like the car.

Surprises
Surprisingly quiet and yet sporty. Surprising turning radius. I anticipated that it would be quick, but the traffic merging and passing power are surprising even at highway speeds. The transition from electric to gas is seamless. Comfortable for long rides -- we recently traveled over a thousand miles in two days and felt rested when we arrived. The safety equipment is an added bonus. Most of our driving is around town and we had the car for 3 weeks before we added a quarter of a tank of gas. The PHEV feature adds to the economy, quiet and power of the vehicle. Easy to drive and good vision for driver.

Love it!!
I had been eyeing this car for a while. I really wanted a car that was comfortable and just easy to drive and I got exactly that! I also test drove Mercedes and BMW and loved the interior design and simplicity of the Volvo. It’s peppier to drive than I expected and I love the understated luxury of the car. Plenty of space in both the front and back seats and trunk space is good for the size of the car. I do not find the infotainment system difficult at all, it works just like an iPhone. In fact, I like the car for the simplicity of the controls… I hate cars that are filled with unnecessary buttons. Would definitely recommend this car to others!
