The vehicle handles at top speed and curves. However, the initial pick-up is a bit slow. The interiors are gorgeous, as well as the exterior. Good workmanship, both in and out.

This is my first car that i purchased. Prior to this i was driving a GEO Prizm. This is a large upgrade. I own the 2.4i and even with the limited HP the car still has a deep growl when compared to other cars that i drove of a compareable price. I have never been happier driving my car.

Suprise S40

I am very pleased with the price - value ratio of the Volvo S40. The performance of the T5 is nothing short of incredible. The mileage is also a pleasant surprise. I am averaging 27.5 combined city/highway mileage on mid- level gas. This is particularily nice since I last owned a Expedition. The new style with a set of crome wheels really sets off the fire-engine red body. I would highly recommend this vehicle.

S40T5 - great when it's not in the shop

I bought the S40T5 after my TSX was totaled. It's been in the shop 4 times: failed oxygen sensor, failed engine computer (requiring flatbed towing and a week-long wait for the part), check engine lights, failed fuel pump sensor, and a loose part in drivers door. Still the stereo stops working at random requiring a restart, the auto transmission shifts are so jerky in manumatic mode that I have to leave it in D, and there are rattles that the dealer refuses to acknowledge. At every service stop the local dealer service is pathetic. It is seriously fun to drive when it works, but the service is ridiculous.

Great Car

Very solidly built car. Manual shift makes car fun to drive. Great pickup (5 cylinder) easy to drive/steer. Drastic change/improvement in car design over previous years. Very good value for the money and compared to its competitors.
