Used 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan Consumer Reviews
Very good car
I bought this car skeptical but this car has really proved its self to me and my wife. Every day at least 50 miles a day this car is a work horse this car is amazingly fun to drive I have bought other SUV in my lifetime and never one like this. I thought it would have many electrical problems but none I would highly recommend this car to anyone that has a family or one thats going to last.
Tiguan tiger and iguana for real
The tiger represents the speed of this car. Iguana for the luxury and smoothness. Amazing car. I think this is the best car I have ever owned I can't even tell you how much this car has impressed me

I Lost So Much Money With This Car
I should have known when I bought it that it was going to be a money pit, I bought it used (2009, purchased it in 2018) as I was in desperate need of a car and didn't have a lot of money. It only had one owner previously and was under 80,000 miles and under $8,000. Within the first month I had to replace my coolant pump. A few weeks later my EPC (Electronic Power Control) light came on. They reset my computer and it was good-ish for a few more months. The next time it came on was while I was going 75mph down the highway. I then had my Pedal Position Sensor replaced, then my Throttle Body and Sensor replaced, then my Turbo Line, replaced Electrical Control System Module (thats what fixed my epc light problem) and now my Lower Timing Cover is leaking oil (A lot, ruining many parking lots.) Not to mention I still need to do standard maintenance (spark plugs, coil packs, etc.) I have only owned the car for a year and a half and have paid more in mechanical issues than have paid off the car. Another thing to keep in mind is its not as easy to work on in a personal garage as a lot it uses non-standard US tools to fix. It's fun to drive, but that's the only good thing I have to say about it. Because now I'm stuck with it as It's now worth less than what I owe on it and have no extra money to maybe get something else.

Tiguan Review at over 48,000 miles
We have had this car for over two years and have driven it over 48,000 miles and have had only one problem. The right front head light assembly. The mechanic wrote it up as a problem of the internal mechanical malfunction of the headlight assembly. Other than that our Tiguan has been a pleasure to own and drive.
High-End Utilitarian Simplicity
I picked up a 2009 SEL with Nav and the panoramic roof and I love it. After years of driving "luxory" AWD vehicles I was looking to simplify ... but didn't want to sacrifice the quality I had grown accustomed to. The SEL Tig was a perfect fit ... simple interior but top notch quality (no cheap plastic dashboards here), comfortable, tight as a drum, good Nav, incredible sunroof, and no real lack of "toys" (bluetooth, backup camera, etc.). I have driven Acura, Lexus, and Infiniti (my last three vehiles in that order) ... and I am VERY happy to be driving the Tiguan now.
