I am on my 3 VW, I now have 2 07 Rabbits , 6 speed autos with 16 inch alloys. Both cars have performed flawlessly and have served me well. Gas mileage between 25 and 30 if you keep it on the highway. Little cars will get you in trouble with ability to exceed 125 mph 32,000 on one 24,000 on the other. Very safe cars, Germans are the best at this, why I got one for my wife and daughters.

Never a boring car to drive...

Although I don't drive as much as I used to, it's always fun to drive the Rabbit under any driving conditions, rain or shine, either city or highway for long trips or short ones, but especially on twisty roads. The ride is always quite and comfortable... After reading some of the negative reviews about reliability issues on this model, I've got a little bit concern, especially about the life of the brake pads, so I decided to check them out at 20000 miles and I was told that will probably last another 20K miles. Of course brake's life as well as gas mileage are subjective to every driver's attitude and driving styles...

I have owned more than 25 cars, mostly Audis, Infinitis or BMWs, but this is the best purchase I have ever made. Not perfect, but for less than $16K, I bought a car that is fun to drive, solid, well built, and comfortable. Only options were the auto and the ESP. This car replaced my wife's Infiniti FX35 (rode very rough) as a stopgap until she decided what she wanted, then we would give it to our daughter. 2.5 years later, my daughter is still waiting b/c my wife will not give it up.

For sure will get speeding tickets cause its way fun, surprised haven't been stopped. Yet. Should be the best selling car in America. Canoes and kayaks fit fine on roof rack. Lots of stuff in back. Back seat is better than previous years VWs. Did I say this is fun?

Got this car 2 yrs. ago, now it's got 26,000 miles on it. It has been a great a little car, there are not problem so far, it gets 28 mpg on a 50 hwy & 50 city. Do my own oil change at every 5000 miles to save money. This car gets up and go love it.
