Third new VW. 4-motion and engine are great. Exterior is stylish but not over done. Love the interior. Exhaust note is great. It's so nice that I find myself not wanting to turn on the stereo.

It's not as fast as the STi or the EVO, but it's also not a street racer like the STi or the EVO. One thing's for sure, this car will not knock the fillings out of your teeth. Just read the 3/22/04 Autoweek's article on the R32 because they are right on the money.

The Volkswagen R32 is an excellent vehicle. The only major issues that I have had with it are the lack of a facotory turbo option, the rims are too heavy, and the car needs HIDs.

The Brand New Volkswagen Golf R32 is a quick and fun car to drive. More power then it's little brother the GTI. The R32 is a 3.2 VR6 with 240hp, All-wheel drive german monster.

I love the car. The handling is great around any corner (ignore ramp speeds). The engine/exhaust sounds great. I think it's the best AWD coupe/compact car WITHOUT turbo and the stock system sounds better than other cars. I wish it had 30-40 more hp. to shut WRX STi and Evo owners up. Anyway, I like VW for staying conceptually sound in shape by not altering the exterior too much. On the downside, the summer tires are nice but not smart.... A/S tires would be outstanding, but I guess VW is too cheap to equip with Michelin,Falkens or Yokohamas in that profile. One more thing... quick acceleration in 1st and 2nd has to grown on you.

I've had this car for over 1 1/2 years and it is just as much of a blast as when I first bought it. Best all 'rounder for the money in my opinion. Power is very good with lots of torque. While the stock handling is quite good a few suspension modifications turns it into a 'car on rails'.

I recently bought the 2004 Volkswagon R32. This car is awesome. I had to drive it from Texas to Maryland to go on vacation. The driving experience is like no other I have experienced. It is a true pleasure to drive. The only downfalls of this car is the non- electric seats. I cannot think of anything else. The monsoon streo is awesome as is the rest of the car. I am a proud owner.

I've been in the market for a new 6speed performace 2-door since I got a full time position offer out of college this past month... Granted I've done my fair share of research, but out of 10 cars i test drove, the R32 offered the most complete package anyone could ask for in a sports coupe... and all 5000 of this limited edition hatchback are imported straight from Germany, even the tires are made in Germany... a nice touch. The interior design is in another class compared to any japanese import or domestic brands have to offer...

I got to drive one of these yesterday and, truth be told, the car was sold as soon as I heard the exhaust note. This will be my forth GTI (84,96,01,04) and my third VR6. I had gotten used to the power and wanted something faster for a while, but could not justify spending the extra $$ on a BMW. This car has everything the 330Ci does, plus all- wheel drive and it is $20K less!!

I have owned an M-Roadster, TT 225 Quattro, 330ci, Porsche 944s, and a Ford Mustang GT and needless to say, this is the most fun to drive. I look at it as if an MRoadster and a TT were to have an offspring, this would be it!

No complaints. Eighth new VW, car is everything I had hoped for. 4-motion and engine are great. 6-speed seems to be very close ratio (in 1st thru 4th) and is a delight with a nice light clutch. Love the interior. Exhaust note is enhanced by removing vacuum line which controls a diverter valve byt the rear muffler, awesome!! Breaks are excellant, suspension is just right for street use.

I've never had so much fun on road trips (even the 2 mile jaunt to work). The power band is wide, suspension is tight, and seats are supportive. The downside, I wouldn't call it a steal at $30k, but you just can't understand until you drive it. It's also a bit heavy, so a few more HP or less weight would be appreciated. I have an AWD five- seater with a powerful, silky-smooth VR6, (mini) SUV storage capacity, and compact car fuel economy.

This car is simply everything I wanted in a sports car. It feels rock solid and just goes where you point it. The new independant rear suspension was a great move. Great acceleration in every geary. Gearbox is much better than any other VW I have owned. Race inspired seats fit like a glove and hold you right where you need to be. The exhaust note is pure sex to the ears. The interior is very plush and the exterior (WOW that blue is amazing) has great lines without being obnoxious. All of this with the added bonus of AWD... Perfect package to slap a supercharger on for an extra 80hp. WHOA!

Start this car up and the exhaust note on ignition will blow you away. Move the tach up past 3800 RPMs and the growl is beautiful. This car has sickening amounts of torque and traction and body lean and roll are very well controlled. The ride is stiff, but never uncomfortable and it is wonderfully balanced. The shifter on this vehicle is the best that Volkswagen has ever placed in a standard production vehicle and compares very well with those from BMW and Honda. In short: this car is too much fun.

About a year ago I was all set to purchase a WRX, until I drove it. Low quality interior, paint and turbo lag left me feeling flat. Don't get me wrong it's a nice car but not nice enough. It wasn't so much beter than my 1998 Jetta GT that I couldn't justify the $26k. My buddy (who has a 2001.5 GTI VR6 which I liked a lot but it was front wheel drive) told me about the R32 and gave me some european mags covering the car and I was immediately sold. I went down to the dealership and put down the deposit and began my wait. Six months later I took delivery of my black R32. I took it easy on the car for the first 1k miles (to break it in) then the fun began.

I have to admit that I was a little worried about the hp since I owned a Z06 and that is a powerful car. However, nothing can beat the handling of my R32. The all wheel drive hugs the curves with the smoothest ride and no over or under steering. I have had a lot of fun with it. And the exhaust sound turns heads... No one expects that sound coming out of a VW golf :-) Interior design is classy and functional. Exterior design is a typical golf. All and all, nearly perfect.

I love this car! Something I haven't said much over the 20 years since I first got my license. I have had 60 plus vehicles in that 20 years and this one stands next to my Stage 3 Roush Mustang and 69 Camaro (My first Car) in the all time, this cars a keeper ranking. The R32 does everything you ask of it and so much more. It has an interior that rivals cars costing $100,000 plus, the steering wheel seems to have been taken directly from an OMP or Sparco catalog and the exhaust note is usually reserved for Ferrari 360's and the like! Having said all that, the only thing this car lacks is a proper AWD system. The Haldex just doesn't cut it. It's not bad but true quatro would have been better!

I was in the market for a fun to drive sports car in the $30k price range. I was going to trade in my 01 Mustang GT which had plenty of after market go fast parts on it. I still wanted a car that accelerated strong but handled better than the Mustang. I test drove the STI and the Mits. Evo, liked them both, although I thought their interiors were cheap and 4 doors doesn’t look sporty. Then I drove the R32 and feel in love. It doesn’t have the acceleration of the Sti or Evo but makes up for it in build quality, refinement and overall style. After 1000 miles I clocked a 0 to 60 run of 6.4 sec (with my Escort G-Timer) and that was without a hard launch.

This is the most fun in a car I have ever owned. I have owned everything from old big block Chevys to small cars and this is my second VW Golf and I don't think I will ever want another car. The Japanese and American car builders could learn something from the Germans if they would buy one of these cars and drive it. The power, all wheel drive and fun ratio is Awesome!

This car is a joy to drive, plenty of excelaration, great handling and dynamite looks. And the interior was the real clincher for me. Quality leather all controls well thought out and features you would expect only in a high end car, like BMW, Mercedes or Audi. Very solid body, just shut doors and hear the quality. Only had it for a short period of time but I'm more than happy with it.

From the first time I test drove this car out of the dealership I was impressed. Its true, it might not be as fast 0-60 as the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO or the Subaru WRS STi but this car was built to get to 155 MPH safely and fast! For a hardcore VW fanatic, this car beats hands down the competition due to the great refinements in the interior and the agility of the car. I have friends that have the EVO and STi, these cars need to be reved up really high to get the max torque whereas the R32 provides full torque at 3,200 rpm. The V6 engine can be easily upgraded with drop in supercharger / turbo charger kits making it a Porche / Evo / WRX / Ferrari killer.

After reading about the car I thought it was too good to be true, after buying it I was really impressed. It is quick, nimble, extremely fun to drive, very comfortable even though they are racing seats, extremely well built. Nothing seems out of place. Wheels and tire combo are perfect they hug the road very well.
