Great car!

I've had my 2006 Volkswagen Passat for a week and really enjoy driving it. I purchased the 3.6L with Sport Package 1. The cars rides and handles great, and the seats are very comfortable. I drove the 2.0L turbo and it was a nice car, but I was swayed by the bigger engine and the additional features of the 3.6L. There are too many standard and optional features to list, but if you're reading this, you probably already know what they are. This is a great car!

I test drove a 2.0T Passat a month ago and have to say I was impressed overall. I really wanted to look at the 3.6L and got to test drive last week and it was a THRILL! On pricing, if you load with similar features, the price isn't that much more than a comparable Japanese vehicle. Where the Passat differs is the available 4Motion. Also, the wagon comes out in the spring. That's what I'm waiting for... a 3.6L 4 Motion Passat Wagon (I don't like the height stance of any SUV). Outside of the Subaru Legacy / Outbank, there's no competion and the Subie's are less expensive because they're far more stripped down.

Typical German Car - Driver Oriented

2006 Volkswagen Passat 2.0T 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6A)

As typical of German cars, the Passat is fun to drive. The 2.0T is quick and responsive. The variable mechanical assist steering is a plus - the car is highly maneuverable in the parking deck (great turning radius) but stable and tight at highway speeds where you feel connected to the road. I think the jury is still out on the FOB ignition key. Why not have a RF system with push button ignition and door unlocking sensing? I like the driver’s side glove box and other storage bins. As luck would have it I test drove the car in pouring rain and found the driver’s door umbrella required me to get wet to pull it out with the door swung open.

2006 Volkswagen Passat Value Edition 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6A)

This is my third Volkswagon since 1998, the previous two being Jettas. I think the 2006 Volkswagen Passat Value Edition is a fantastic car. It's solid, has a nice design, and I feel almost well-to-do driving it. It has a lot of speed for an automatic...I could not believe the take off on the highway. It also has a ton of room and really attractive little features.

Just test drove the 3.6 and WOW!

I just test drove the 2006 Volkswagen Passat 3.6 today and I have to say that it was, well...WOW! The responce of the gas peddle was very impressive. The interior was beautiful and very well thought out. I have been looking at an Audi A6, Mercerdes-Benz E500, and BMW 525i and I would have to say that for the money of the 3.6 it is a definate buy.
