Used 2006 Volkswagen Passat Consumer Reviews
An Autoban Cruiser!
The 2006 Volkswagen Passat 3.6 really performs! It is a fantastic combination of handling, acceleration (with absolutely zero torque steer!), comfort and ergonomics...especially with the sport package that inlcudes 12 way adjustable seats, both driver and passenger side, that feel as good as they look! the Sport package also has a dialed down suspension for even flatter cornering. this car is unbelievable at AutoBahn speeds! The 3.6 engine will knock you back into your seat with available torque on demand, yet provides much better gas mileage than the Infiniti G35 will ever hope to get! The engine has a "Euro" growl, unlike the Japanese "appliance" sound! The Passat sailed through a 6" snow fall in Chicago, passing three BMW's that got stuck! Go VW!
I Love My Passat
I bought this new Passat 306 in January after selling my 1999 Passat GLX. I thought I loved my old Passat, but I really love my new one. It has sooo many great features, rides like a dream, and it will fly. I have come to the conclusion, it's just a VW thing. There is just something about the engineering that sets it apart from the rest.

Still Smiling...
I picked up my 2006 Volkswagen Passat 3.6 a week ago, and haven't stopped smiling since. I've had many cars in my life, and this is one of the best. It has such a great feel when driving and is very, very quiet. I realize that having a car for just a week leaves the oppurtunity for things to go wrong, but I really don't see that happening with this car. Each day I find something else unique with this car, like the little snowflake that flashes next to the outside temperature reading to help you remember to be careful of black ice, etc. Also, the stereo system from Dynaudio is one of the best you'll ever hear. All in all, I really think this is an amazing vehicle.
LOVE this car
This is my third Volkswagon since 1998, the previous two being Jettas. I think the 2006 Volkswagen Passat Value Edition is a fantastic car. It's solid, has a nice design, and I feel almost well-to-do driving it. It has a lot of speed for an automatic...I could not believe the take off on the highway. It also has a ton of room and really attractive little features.
DO NOT BUY A VW - MY BIGGEST REGRET
This is the most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned. The car has been in the shop over 15 times & about 6 months total. WE have spent over $5000 in repairs for this BRAND NEW car. It is worthless and full of problems and recalls. Entire steering column has been replaced twice w/in 14 months; entire radio/cd had to be replaced; air conditioner went out after only 2 years; brakes had to be replaced after 2 years; It is a worthless car and I am scared to death to drive it anywhere because it continuously has Service Now lights on; check engine light; beeping all the time; warning lights; Please do not buy a VW. VW of America does not care about their customers; they have shut us out.
