Used 2006 Volkswagen Passat Consumer Reviews
What a car!
The new 2006 Volkswagen Passat 3.6 features many extras spilled over from the Phaeton. The car is extremely fun to drive and there are very many safety features to keep you from having an accident. There are also many fun extras like the steerable headlights, 6 disc in dash CD changer, XM radio, auto-hold feature and an awesome trip computer. If you're thinking about buying a Passat, please do. My BMW / VW salesman told me that VW / Audi is years ahead of BMW and Mercedes-Benz in technology and feautures. The ride is very quiet and the heated leather seats are comfortable. The Dynaudio sound system is worth the extra money! It is the most awesome stereo I've ever heard in a car and it always amazes my friends!
Very Impressed
My wife and I went to the VW dealer looking for the 2006 Passat 2.0T. We ended up test driving the 3.6L and all I could say was "WOW!" We spent that week after, researching the 2006 Passat online, comparing to other cars in it's class, the price, etc. We ended up selling our existing car, (1999 Nissan Altma) and got a ride from the in-laws to the dealer, with my research folder and checkbook in hand. The Passat we wanted just arrived on the lot, 3.6L, black on black with Lux #2, Dynaudio and DVD navigation. We checked out the car and my wife and I agreed to only buy the car if we could get it at invoice price. And we did!

Great Car!
I checked out the 3.6 Passat this week. I was floored at how nice this car is. It handles like nothing I've ever driven before. The car I'm getting out of is a 2003 Acura TL, which is pretty nice also, but the Passat is something special. The layout of the guages and controls on the dash, and with many controls on the steering wheel, makes it easy to adjust things on the move. At night the red and blue interior lighting is breathtaking. The lighting on all switches, knobs, etc., and the ambient red lighting bathes the console and dash in a soothing, red glow. I signed the papers today for a 3.6 with the Luxury Package 2, in United Grey, with black leather. Just Mud Guards are the only extras.
Top Choice
Out of all the cars I drove, and i drove a lot, none had that feeling I was purchasing a $30,000 vehicle. However, the 2006 Volkswagen Passat 3.6 feels like a $40,000 vehicle and still does even after the purchase.
New 3.6L Passat 11/21/05
Take this from an ex-Benz, Lexus, BMW, Volvo owner, the list is huge..., I test drove this new car on Saturday and couldn't wipe the grin off my face. "THIS IS A VW?" I put a deposit on it right away. Then I went home, did my research, read lots of blogs, (very helpful) and all the other VW model quality issues aside, I went and bought this car today. When I looked deeper into the issue, it does seem like VW has had it share of problems especailly when it comes to other and older models made in other than Germany. The fact that this was made in the Fatherland restored my confidence in this well engineered gem. Time will tell if my call was right and I'll provide updates as car matures.
