Dead at 66.000 Miles!

I purchased my Beetle for 4 years in 2003. It was in the shop 6 times the first year! Now at 66,000 miles the engine has lost all compression. My local mechanic could not find a reason so I had it towed to the VW dealership to see if they could tell me what happened. They did not have a clue, but said the engine is definitely dead. I had the oil changed every 4000 miles. The power train warranty expired at 60,000 miles (before 2003 it was a 100,00 mile warranty. I am through with VW's! (oh yes, and I still owe money on this pile of junk)

I love my Beetle, 6 speed, how many women out there can drive this baby? Only one thing wrong with it - I have to remind myself every time I drive it. You don't need a Traffic Award!

My second Beetle

I'm now on my second New Beetle. I've never had any problems with the car beyond a few minor complaints like the placement of the cup holders or the fact that the texture on the interior door handles tends to wear off. Both of mine have been the GLX trim. Plently of power and a lot of fun to drive. I've heard of people having mechanical issues with New Beetles but I have to wonder if perhaps some of it isn't abuse.

I "Love" my New Beetle

This is such a fun car to drive. I wanted a beetle in the 60's but was young and could not afford one. Finally got a Beetle last year after all kids had left home. I think the design of this new beetle is so much better than the original. It is Heavier and roomier and I feel much safer in it than I think I would have been in the orignal. It handles like a dream and has a smoothe ride not unlike much bigger, heavier cars. It has met my expectations many times over. I am really glad I got it. I plan to give it to my daughter as a college graduation gift, (she has wanted one for years) and then buy a new convertible beetle for me.

For all the whiners out there!

I bought this car with the expectation I would love driving it and getting lots of attention! This car does both and I hve had it back to Youngblood VW for a couple of things and they got them fixed and I was just as anxious to get back into it like it was the first drive! I didn't complaint about the car going back in the same as I wouldn't if I had to go see my Dr. Sometimes things go wrong and they have to be excepted and move on and quit whining!.
