Will Not take it back
I've owned the Atlas SE 2024 for TWO Years now, and I'm completely satisfied with the way it handles driving short and long distances. With the new technology, it is a smartphone on wheels, plus its safety features are outstanding. I recommend VW 100% to anyone looking for safe transportation for the family. I enjoy the interior and exterior design. Outstanding overall. G.A

First time VW owner, and love it!
My wife bought a new 2022 VW Tiguan and while it has some quirks, has been a very reliable car with zero warranty claims in the 18 months and 10k miles we’ve owned it. Plus, I really liked the suv. Due to this, I go out and drive a new 24 Atlas SEL Premium RLine 4-Motion in Opal White. I had my reservations about being mostly all touch screen or touch capacitive buttons in this Atlas, but dang if I don’t love it! Super easy to use and very intuitive. I’m not sure why reviews knock it because as a 41 year old male who isn’t super techie, I find no issues with working it fast and efficient. This Atlas is super zippy, and while no speed demon, it will get up to speed with enough gusto to satisfy you. It handles great in my opinion. The seats are firm and supportive but comfortable. The interior is super nice, borderline luxury. This suv is super roomy. I am 6’5 and 300 plus pounds and drive comfortably, and can sit behind myself in the second row. My dad who is 6’2 sat in the 3rd row very comfortably, albeit with the 2nd row captain chair moved forward some. I love the style! I think it is the best looking midsize suv. I traded in a Ford Explorer ST, and it had so many build quality issues, less roomy and a chintzy interior. Go drive a new 24 Atlas, you will like it and probably drive one home.

Volkswagen Girl
I was looking to purchase the VW Cross sport but decided to see how the Atlas handle. I was impressed with the acceleration, and the safety features. It handles well, and feels comfortable. The size is just right and its appearance is eye catching especially at night. I love the ambient lighting and different colors to choose from. So, far I am enjoying my SUV.

over the road salesman in an Atlas
In 3 months, I have done 7000 miles. The top-of-the line SEL R-Line is simply loaded. Read reviews and you'll hear praise for fit & finish, great interior, good looks on the exterior, and "fussy" big screen controls. I agree with all. I have had many compliments about the appearance of the SUV. I monitor fuel, and I check my hwy mileage, once I'm at crusing speed of 75 MPH-ish...and the computer is saying 27-29.8 for pure hwy. It rides like glass. Reviews don't seem to make a big deal that in the 3 SEL trims, you get a 5000 lb trailer hitch included. Or that you can use regular gas. The safty features are good, and the crusie is excellent.

tech savvy and luxury
I spent alot of time looking and driving other vehicles before i bought the atlas. All the tech and luxury features are what hooked me, once i saw it I knew this was the one. The vehicle drives itself and keeps it center in the lane, the interior has alot of plugins, vents for all rows, and a great sized 3rd row. I love all the interior and exterior lighting. The interior feels very refined and has wood accross the cabin with even backlighting in it. While a fully loaded one isnt cheap, it pales in comparison to many other suv's, i do think its good value. Only thing i havent used sucessfully is self parking, either its me or its not intuitive. I have a 3 yr lease, i wont pay for any maintenance during this period. If it end up keeping it, i have a longer than standard warranty. Completely satisfied.

Fantastic car in every way!
I now have about 2500 miles on my 2024 Atlas SE with tech package and love it. It is very spacious. The front seat is large and comfortable, and the rear seat (which is adjustable and even reclines a bit) has incredible leg room. With the third row seat folded closed, the rear compartment is huge. Of course, the Atlas is not as easy to park as, say, a Honda Fit, but the car fits well in most parking lots and maneuvers easily with a very tight tuning radius for its size. The interior is very pleasing to the eye. I was tired of black interiors and am in love with the Shetland interior in my vehicle. Interior materials are exceptional for the price point. Fit and finish are very good. You can hear the (269HP four cylinder turbo) engine revving on takeoff, but it is not in any way obnoxious, and when you reach your desired speed, the car is very quiet. The ride is smooth. It's no Corvette, but the car is quite peppy in city and highway driving. Turbo-lag is minimal (far less than with my prior car, a 2022 335HP biturbo 6-cylinder Ford Edge ST). Cornering is probably not the Atlas's strong point, but it is good in my opinion and is probably fine for most drivers. The car really excels on the highway. The adaptable cruise control works flawlessly (and is standard on all 2024 VW's - whereas many cars require you to upgrade to a higher trim level just to pay for the privilege of adding adaptable cruise control). The base level sound system is quite good (though audiophiles should consider upgrading). The infotainment system is very easy to use, as is the climate control system. I would be remiss to leave out economy. The Atlas SE with 4motion (4-wheel drive) has an EPA rating of 19 MPG city and 26 MPG highway. I am happy to report that my Atlas (according to the built-in mileage meter) far exceeds those figures. At 70 MPH, with cruise control on flat land, the car achieves mileage in the low 30's. Perhaps best of all is the economy of the purchase price. This is really an upscale car for an economy car price. At $40k (before taxes and fees), which is $6K under the MSRP, I was thrilled with my purchase on day one and I am more thrilled by the day. Excuse me while I head back to the driver's seat!
Highly recommend
I’m an US Army Soldier and my wife and I needed something that was made with families in mind and built for great quality both interior and Exterior, and boy did VW knock it out with this one. Not only is the interior spacious and luxurious but the minor details implemented adds a sense of personality to it. The exterior is beautifully designed and a bit sporty in person. Vehicle looks much better in person than in photos and videos. I know that past years have had engine issues but with this new engine and proper maintenance those will diminish quickly, just be sure to properly warm up and cool down this vehicle to prevent any turbocharger and/or engine issues down the line and it’ll be fine. Using the VW App on the phone helps me and my wife remote start the vehicle well beyond the 5-10min recommend time for warm up before we walk out the door. If any of you know about Turbocharged engines you know I’m speaking the truth. Overall this vehicle in this trim is exactly what me and my wife were looking for and more, especially at the price point. Hope this helps any potential buyers but this is truly the one you didn’t know you needed.

Catchy Title Atlas Shrugged
Great vehicle and excited and happy to own. Needs less touch and gestures and more buttons and knobs. Steep learning curve for infotainment screen!
I AM IN LOVE
I am in love with our new 2024 Atlas R-Line. It's plenty quick enough for a large SUV, especially in sport mode, and everything just feels solid, refined, comfortable and perfect. There's a lot of tech in this car but after a few days of playing around with everything it's pretty simple to learn and operate. I also love how customizable it is as far as the interior displays and behind the wheel. It's also a gorgeous car to look at. Highly recommend!

It does a lot of things quite well. A good buy!
The vehicle performs quite well and is very easy to drive. (excellent handling) It's an exceptionally spacious SUV with more sufficient power from this proven Volkswagen 4 Cylinder turbo motor updated for the Atlas. The European styling is very much appreciated and quite pleasing on the eye inside and out. Once you familiarize yourself with all the technologies, you are able to take full advantage of all the great features.

Nice car plagued by Tech issues
We bought our Atlas SE w/ Technology in July of 2024. We love the look of the vehicle and the quality of the interior. The cabin is noticeably loud at high speeds or with wind. It doesn't appear to be sealed well. Our major complaints are with the technology of this vehicle. The infotainment system is absolute garbage. It is buggy, unresponsive, and we frequently have issues with CarPlay. The backup camera has a delay, comes on at random times, or doesn't turn on at all. The vehicle came with VW CarNet. It has not worked since the day we bought it. I have called customer support for months, and every time, they provide no update. They acknowledge the problem, but say they have no fix for it. Overall, disappointed by the terrible customer service.

Regret purchase
I will start with my pros… it is very roomy. I was set on getting second row captains and I was able to find that. I am able to load my paddleboard on top. Acceleration is decent for a large 4 cylinder. Infotainment system is easy. Changing the colors on the dashboard is a fun feature. Cons: I purchased new and have had vehicle less than a year. It has been in the shop 3xs and will be back for a 4th time soon. Brought first time because the vehicle was squeaking when we got in and out of it. Sounded like an old rust bucket. They said this was a loose heat shield and is a known issue to the Atlas. They tightened, chained oil and rotated tires. After this visit, the squeaking continued but now from rear wheel area along with a new clicking sound. I returned. They tightened the heat shield again and said clicking was loose license plate. On the way home from this appointment, both noises were still present. I immediately went back. They said they tightened heat shield again and could not find anything else. Upon picking vehicle up 4 days later, the noise was still there. The squeaking is not the heat shield. It is the suspension and I have a 4th appointment scheduled. Another known issue of the Atlas is that the infotainment screen gets scrambled/has lines all through it making it impossible to read and impossible to see backup camera clearly. This happens several times a week. There is not a fix for this “known issue” except restarting the screen. This makes me nervous for the longevity of system. What will happen when my warranty runs out and it stops working?! My last complaint about the atlas are the seats. They are extremely hard and become painful after about 3 hours. Even my 14 year old told me he feels like an old man after riding for long periods. (I wish I could upload photos and videos here for the readers).

Atlas VW w/Tech
I like the car very much. The interior is very well appointed. I really like the size of the tires. Its ride is very smooth and quiet. The interior digital appointments are also fascinating! The engine groans, strains and stalls if you push it a bit hard but otherwise it's a pleasant car.

Very roomy and comfortable
I test drove 2024 and 2025 model years of the VW Atlas, the Honda Pilot, the Subaru Ascent, and the Chevy Traverse. All of the vehicles had all wheel drive, similar EPA fuel ratings, and similar options. I ended up purchasing the Volkswagen Atlas SE with Technology. In my opinion the Volkswagen Atlas had the most room and the smoothest, quietest ride. For me it was also the best value for my money with options I required like a roof rack and a tow package. I had it on a 200 mile road trip and averaged just over 29 mph gallon on the highway using regular gas. Around town I average just about 20 miles per gallon. The 2 liter turbocharged engine has plenty of get up and go when it's needed. Some people complain about all the controls for things like heat, air conditioning, and radio all being part of the infotainment system, but it doesn't take long to figure out how to use it and there are shortcut buttons on the panel that take you right to those functions. Volkswagen also has a voice activation system that allows you to control all those functions hands-free. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and believe I made the right choice.

Another Atlas
This is my third Atlas, previous 2019 Sel. 2022 Cross sport 2022. Now 2024 Rline. The vehicle rides nice. I do miss the 6 cylinder. Of the Cross sport Rline. Yet this 2024, is sexy.

Not worth the money
My phone has problems connecting constantly. Which is beyond annoying. You can't switch between YouTube and SoundCloud or you have to pull over and turn the car off and on again. Then if it doesn't have good service even though my songs are downloaded it skips like its loading something???? The seats are also some of the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat in. Way too firm and long. DO NOT GET IF YOU'RE SHORT. Seats aren't made for short backs. It has decent gas mileage is the only reason it has two stars. I wouldn't recommend this vehicle to anyone. Whoever built this model should've drove it around for a few hundred miles first.

Do not buy this car
I bought a brand new 2024 Atlas. Two days later, the drive assist system kept on being disabled. Three days later, I noticed that car-connect is not functioning. when I called VW customer service, they asked me to take the car to a dealership. Imagine a brand new car being taken to a dealership. Do not waste your money buying this car

Above avg midsize suv
Good sized interior, with comfortable seating for larger people. Among the spacious cargo area against others its size. Didn’t like that it’s not a six cylinder engine and feel that’s a deterrent for someone that keeps cars for many years

Big and Basic
If you are looking for bigger size from the Tiguan with basic features the Atlas is it! Very happy even with basic standard features compared to the Atlas crossover suv.
Awesome car; Small outside but BIG inside!
We just got this new VW Atlas SE edition. So far it's driving pretty good and we are happy. even with small 2.0L V4 engine, it has good enough power to tell any difference. Very roomy inside but still doesn't look that big outside so it's easy to handle and park. Only thing we didn't like is it's missing the memory seats; that's the technology available for last 30 years so they should make it standard on all models and trims. Also, passenger seat is manual while driver's seat is automatic. Can't believe they cut corners like that. It's available on higher trims but none was available in Houston.
