2023 GMC Yukon
Having owned a 2012 Yukon Denali that I was very happy with, I made the (bad) choice to buy a Ford Expedition Limited in early 2020 mainly because it featured what I believed was a more sophisticated rear suspension. I really detested that car: the v6 turbo, the handling (would jump 6 inches sideways on expansion joints of a highway off-ramp), the transmission that died after 2 years … and 50k miles etc. When the dealership said it’d take them 6 weeks to repair the car (which they initially claimed was not covered under warranty!!!), I was done with the Ford and I said they could keep it. The Yukon that replaced it has been nothing but a joy. 16k miles later, not one issue. Stellar gas mileage (it’s the diesel which this site did not offer as an option). 26.2 mpg for the first 10k miles city and Highway combined! 35 mpg on the highway is nothing special (AC does impact this number significantly). For such a big car! It feels rock solid. It looks good. The interior is nice. Very few little issues. The usb power in the center console is anemic. The electronic parking brake status light is lagging in displaying what is going on (so I sometimes re-set it even if it was going to be released), the rear camera view is poor at night due to the back up light being too weak. On the other hand the camera views from above etc. are just perfect (just drove a BMW 540i for 2k miles and they can learn a thing or two from gmc in that regard). Probably my favorite car so far.
