Awesome Ride!
I have had over 50 cars. This one is near the top of the list. While some may compare this to a Lexus, it’s not nor was it meant to be. It is nicer than the NX hybrid since that still uses the previous generation motor from the RAV4. Why buy this? Great mpg. I get 45 highway and running around on a 38 mile loop average 52 at my mountain house. The cabin is relatively quiet but narrow compared to other suvs. I had a 2021 Passport Elite that was not as nice as this. The seats are comfortable and it is a very pleasant drive on trips. Having owned 3 Prius’s, this fits in well with more room. My decision was not between the RAV4 and this since I had that before and it is noisier. This is just a luxurious Toyota as is the Avalon.

Lexus with a Toyota Label
First, let me say that this car is a show stopper. We chose the blue one, and I can't begin to count the number of people who have stopped me to tell me what a beautiful car it is. We traded our 2019 Sienna because we wanted better gas mileage and a car we could get in and out of a little easier, we're both 75 and a little less spry than we used to be. We loved our Sienna, but we are finding the Venza to be a much more practical vehicle for us. We sacrificed a lot of cargo space, and the Venza definitely lacks "cubby hole" space, but overall we like the Venza more than our Sienna. Performance wise the Venza has the power when you need it, but it averages right around 40 mpg, twice as much as our Sienna. It drives very well around town and on the road is a dream. It has lots of safety features, including some that I have turned off because I don't think they are that safe and they lead to "over confident" driving. Every day we discover something on the Venza that we didn't know we had. The only two complaints we have so far is the location of the "ON" button is a little strange, and there is a definite lack of "cubby hole" storage. Otherwise, so far, we love it.

Not really like a Lexus
A lot of reviewers call the Venza Toyota's version of a Lexus SUV. It's not. There's more road noise than any Lexus I've driven, and the ride is not luxury class in the least. That being said, the Venza is loaded with cool tech, has great body styling, and is priced competitively.

2021 Venza
We started out the process of buying a new suv with a lot of online research. Based on the reviews I was confident that a CX5 was in my future. Unfortunately, the test drive was not was I hoped for - the exterior was not as attractive as the online photos, the interior was just OK, and the driving performance was too tight for me. There was also some significant turbo lag when accelerating. On our way home we drove by a Toyota dealer and an elegant yet sporty car captured my eye - the Venza in coastal gray. We scheduled a test drive and I was stunned at how much fun it was to drive. The ride was soft and luxurious, the interior was finely appointed, and it had all the technology you could ask for. Plus, due to the electric motors it had more instantaneous acceleration at any speed. Sometimes a car just fits everything that is important to you and it was the Venza for me. My wife loves it too and as a real tree hugger she was so impressed with the mileage (we are averaging 40 mpg, 45 around town) that she has decided to sell her Mini Cooper because the Venza has significantly less emissions. We are now engaged in a healthy competition to see who can get the best eco driving score (which she is destined to win because I like driving in sport mode). Saving the planet has never been so much fun!
Exterior appeal. Interior comfort.
Toyota Venza Limited. I’ve had this car 2 weeks. We are the empty nester target audience. Retirees. Mid 70s. My wife had difficulty and pain, getting out of our sedan. Sciatica and arthritis. Her therapist recommended getting an SUV or van. This Venza is very easy for her to slide in and out of, with no pain at all. Contrary to many reviews, I am very happy with the screen. Just read the manual. Most people don’t. The steering wheel performs so many functions, once you set climate to your preference, you can forget about the screen. For example, my wife is 4’9. She couldn’t reach the back hatch. Using the steering wheel, I entered the dash display, went to hatch height, and lowered the opening. There are 5 height choices. The steering wheel easily controls volume, and voice control, just tell it what station or program you want. The sunroof is worth getting, as it lightens the interior and gives you a bigger feeling. I love the look of the 12.3 inch screen. I sat in a Tesla, was in awe of the 18 inch screen, and when I saw this screen, I was hooked. This car is made in Japan. As a former Acura TSX owner, another car made in Japan, I enjoyed the clearly superior quality of cars made in Japan. I didn’t want the ubiquitous RAV 4.
