Great Midsized Pickup
I purchased my Tacoma Off Road one month ago. 22" of snow over the weekend - 100 yd very steep uphill driveway - unplowed - truck never noticed it. No problem in 4WD high. It's a beast in the snow. Cool factor - my high school kids and thier friends love the vehicle.

First Tacoma but won't be my Last!
I am very impressed with this truck. It drives like a car on the road and is able to go off road and excel there too. It is very quite inside and feels extremely well built. You can just see, hear and feel the quality of this truck. Definitely worth a test drive if you are considering getting a midsize truck. I am absolutely loving mine!

I bought my 2017 Toyota Tacoma Limited at a very good price. The resale value and quality of truck is a big plus.

2017 tacoma pre runner sr5 double cab lease
We just got into a 2017 pre runner double cab lease v6 sr5. The interior has more room than the previous tacoma double cab models. Over all we love the truck. I hate to lease but with only 2500 down and 267 a month for 48 months 12k miles a year. It is the only way we could do the payments. I thought it was a fair deal. When we get close to the end of the lease term i will have to see what will be best to do?

Overall great truck. Not the fastest acceleration, but ok for me. Very solid ride, but comfortable. Would recommend.

Great truck
I have liked almost every part of this truck! I have never owned a truck with greater off-road capability and reliability!! There have been a few issues like any vehicle but mainly recalls like 3rd brake light leaking water and a fan but both have been fixed with ease at the dealer with no complaints or fights. One big issue was the rear leaf springs squeaking and Toyota saying there just that way and that’s a joke no other truck I have owned made that noise but it finally a wore it’s self in and no more squeaky leafs. Overall though I would not go for a different truck great reliability and it holds it’s value!

RELIABLE AND FUN TO DRIVE
I have the 2 wheel drive off road version short bed double cab since 2017. Regarding reliability to date I have not had any issues. Note: I keep up with my scheduled maintenance. I am very satisfied with the power and performance of the truck. I've been in some tense situations when I have had to rely on quick braking in which my truck has performed very well and quick acceleration which has gotten me out of some hairy situations. I've taken this truck off-roading a handful of times and I love the way the truck handles and performs. This truck is so much fun. The down side is comfort. For short drives there is no issue. However for long drives over 2 hours the drive becomes uncomfortable, the rear seats are uncomfortable for passengers (no leg room for anyone 5'9" and above) Finally the navigation is outdated (Example: Some times direction takes the longest route) Finally, overall exterior is the best looking truck currently on the market in my opinion!

2017 Tacoma 4x4
Just remember, this is a 4x4 truck. The ride is rather stiff. Excellent vehicle for light towing, off road, snow, and mud. Truck cab is super quiet despite the road surface. Great mid-size truck without the very rough and noisy ride of smaller 4x4 vehicles.

Great truck!
Very reliable. Great fuel economy
Leaking Timing Chain Cover
My Tacoma has always been my baby. At the 60000 mile mark, I did the required maintenance, to find out that my 2017 Tacoma was leaking from the timing chain cover. I took the vehicle to the Toyota dealer, and they stated that in order to get that repaired under warranty, it had to have less that 60001 miles. They quoted me to place a new gasket at over $3500. I have always been a Toyota fan because I believed in their reliability. I currently own a 2016 Toyota Corolla, the 2017 Tacoma and a 2021 Supra. According to threads that I have read, this is a common problem for the 2016 and 2017 Toyota Tacoma. I really hope that Toyota sends a recall for this know issue, if not I might have to shift to other brands.

Love it!!!
Beautiful truck!! Love it!!
Great all around truck
This is my 5th Toyota truck, and my first Tacoma. It my 2nd 4x4, having previously owner a first year Tundra for 15 years. I bought this from a private party who needed a larger truck. He upgraded front coils and arms, shocks, added air bags in rear for towing, wheels & tires upgraded as well. Love everything about it except only gets 17-19 mpg. Great all around vehicle for work and play. Nothing goes wrong with Toyota trucks! The rear hard tonneau cover is nice, and I put in locking with remote tailgate myself.
Awesome performance and reliability
I like the ride, the features, and specially its reliability. I’ve has this truck since 2017, and it’s never given me a single problem. $ well spent!

The best midsize truck available
I’ve owned a Tacoma since 2008 and plan on owning one for the rest of my life. It’s a great truck and super reliable. Hopefully Toyoya will make an affordable electric one in the next 5 years. Either way, I’ll probably own one the rest of my life!

great truck- but wish I got a V6 instead of 4
this is my daily driver and only vehicle of 2 years. I use the bed frequently and have made adjustments for my preferences electronically and on the interior. Never had any issues or breaks so far. I have found it very easy to work on myself for various body damage repairs, and I live in the city and get 19 mpg. I do not tow but it does have a hitch. I will say though- really wish I had a 6 cylinder. The acceleration is a little weird and lacking. And has given me more scares than I'd like to admit in rain and ice. I don't consider myself a heavyfooted driver and havent had these issues in other vehicles but because of the funky acceleration have found my from-stop-to-go disappointing and concerning in slick weather.

This is another Japanese truck that is very reliable. I have 59000 trouble free miles with this vehicle. It runs smooth and has a good pickup speed on the freeway.

Good Running Truck
love this vehicle, except for the flooding issue. After 6 years of driving my vehicle it decided to flood on the driver's side floor. Very disappointed. This is my fourth tacoma. Dealership told me it was from the sunroof. Rarely use it. Had it cleaned, new carpet put in after "they fixed it". Overall it is a good truck.

Tough and dependable
Yes the brakes are grabby and the transmission does some weird shifting. But push the gas pedal and off it roars. The fuel pump was replaced on a recall at 40,000 and I’ve been getting 25 mpg ever since on the v6. Love the truck and I plan to have it for 10 more years. UPDATE: Ever since the recall on the fuel pump, I’ve been getting 24-25 mpg all over and 26-27 mpg on the highway. The seats are much more comfortable with seatjackers installed. Very dependable work horse.

What can I say it’s a Tacoma can’t beat them.
Had a 2003 supercharged Tacoma off road for about 10 years, between me and my family racked up 125000 hard miles, had the truck in my teen years, so lots of burnouts, off roading, banging off the rev limiter etc. Truck never complained or left me stranded, now that I’ve matured some what 😮😀, thought ild get me a 2017 Tacoma and I do not regret it one bit, truck is amazing, nice seats, awesome entertainment center, for a small truck it’s big if that’s makes sense, strong engine even though they quit the trd supercharged factory deal thing you could get for them. Now the bad they had to replace my rear differential internals due to a leaking cover, but was covered under warranty otherwise it’s 3000 $$$$$. And the truck is noisy as heck on the highway but hey it’s a truck I don’t care, and the gas millage sucks or maybe not broken in yet i don know. Other than that awesome truck and Toyota sticks to there products and will fix if it breaks I’am testimony to that. Plus my dealership has lifetime Powertrain protection so thats even more comforting. For that I say go for it you will not be disappointed.

Sporty Tacoma
Great truck! Reliable; lasts forever.
traded up from 2007 to 2017 tacoma
New electronics upgrade is nice. I am 5'-10" and have no trouble being comfortable driving. Sun roof and power sliding rear window are great. 2017 is a bit larger than the 2007 . The oil filter was on top of the engine on the 2007 that made an oil change easier. Over all i am happy with the truck that I purchased with 37,000 miles. Wish it had leather interior like my last one.

Inferno color...great
Sometimes vehicle wants to idle up and down. Found out has 2 types of fuel injection I understand the issue now. Should explain at purchase. So far really like the truck. Much rather have than a Colorado or Canyon. The Frontier's are more of a truck but steering radius is horrible and ride a lot rougher. I think that floor mats should be standard equipment in these vehicles.

Differential
Shifting is clunky at times even after recalls were performed at 10,000 mile check up. At same service the technician found a front differential noise that led to a 2 1/2 week loaner and a new from differential. Never even had it in 4 wheel drive. Makes me nervous about it now that I had a lift added at the same service date because they made a comment that reflected no noise and lift was installed. Why even comment on the lift? It had nothing to do with the differential needing replaced.

Disappointed but it's good
This is definitely not an amazing pickup. I really did love it though. I'd of had to order one the way I wanted it. The one I test drove just wasn't my favorite color and was the wrong trim for me. It's definitely more of a toy than a truck. I wish I could of taken it off road or had more time to adjust to the vehicle. The salesman I was with didn't really let me drive the truck the way I wanted. I once test drove a Camaro SS. The salesman took me to a backroad and we did drags with the car. I left the dealer with a Camaro. The route I took with this Salesman was just meh. And honestly I wish I had taken more time to play with the transmission (manual). It was so different from the other trucks I've owned and driven. Overall I'd recommend this to anybody that wants a 4x4 truck with a manual. The backseat was worthless if you ask me. I also wasn't to cozy up front. But it was good enough. It's a truck afterall. The engine though felt sooo gutless the way we drove it. I've heard if you open these up they're better. I was left wantin for low end torque though.

Make sure you want a truck that takes a bit to get accelerating and overall gas mileage is ok...not really the 21 MPG most of the time. Overall it is a comfy truck and I am happy with it so far.

Living up to its reputation.
I did a lot of research on this truck before I bought it and in doing so had decided I wanted the TRD Sport double cab long bed with the premium tech package. The sound is excellent through the JBL head unit and there's a sub behind the back seats that kicks pretty well for a stock system. The truck is nice and roomy. I've had five dudes of various sizes inside and all of them were impressed with how roomy it felt. My least favorite thing is the hood scoop on the truck and it's still also one of my favorite things about it. It makes the truck look meaner and cooler but dies cut into the sight line through the windshield so it takes some getting used to. Overall, I love the truck and can't wait to drive it every chance I get.

No electric seats available for this truc. When driven between 60-65 mph the vehicle averages 23 to 24 mph. Personally would give this truck a 4.9 out of a 5.0 rating.

2017 Toyota Tacoma
Really glad I purchased, I only wish this model year was also built in Texas. The thing I wish it has is what they are introducing in 2020 model and that is an adjustable seat - they need for both driver and passenger. The other area for improvement is the audio system, no CarPlay and limited XM radio stations. I still have no regrets for my purchase, enjoy driving this truck.
