Till the End
No matter what I throw at this truck, it gets the job done. Fits 5 people nicely, and you can still throw stuff in the bed. Although more pwr from the 4cyl would be nice, it still gets the job done. Mud, snow, sand, dirt, nothing can stop this truck. For the price you pay, you get one hell of a truck that can conquer anything. Pull, push, haul, it does it with reliability. From its great design to the ease of use in the cabin, this trucks a winner and I don't see myself getting rid of it.
2002 Tacoma regular cab 2.4L automatic
I purchased this truck used about a month ago. I didn't inspect the frame so I ended up with a rust bucket. Now every time I see a Tacoma, tundra,4runner or Sequoia I try to see how rusted their frames are. The one I still own is pretty much unsafe at any speed. It's been parked on my driveway since the day I bought it. The engine ( 148,191 original miles ) and automatic transmission are just in excellent condition. No mechanical problems at all. I contacted Toyota motors and they told me that since toyota never issue a recall, what they did was a voluntary fixing on a case by case situation it's up to the owner to fix it. I just can't believe a 17 year old truck can have a desintegrated frame and the out side body doesn't even have rust yet. Like mine there are thousands of toyota trucks on the the roads with frames so rusted through that at any given moment they could just split in half while the innocent driver have no idea of the danger their putting themselves and their love ones and the people around them. The federal government should really look into this type of danger that is on this country public roads. Now that moving forward campaign From Toyota start to make sense, it means sell a defective product, and when made aware of the defect, just issue a voluntary fix this way you avoid a full blown recall like what happened to VW with the dieselgate fiasco and they ended up having to buyback every diesel car that was involved in the emissions scam. That's what Toyota should have done, buy back every defective truck they sold.

2002 Tacoma
My Tacoma is a regular cab short wheelbase 2WD with 2.4 L and automatic. It is fun to drive and very manuverable. It can haul the load when asked and gets fairly respectable gas mileage (20-24 mpg). I made several cross country trips with a loaded bed and it has performed just great.
Great Truck
I Have always wanted a tacoma since middle school, so i finally got one! And love it! Although, what is with the rattling passenger airbag...i've noticed alot of people have had this problem...and yes, I HAVE IT TOO!!! what I did though was just put a small thin cloth between the windshield and dash and hadn't heard it rattle since, but the cloth is VERY noticable. If you are thinking about getting one, it's a wise investment...but if you buy a 2WD it doesn't do so good off- road, i'd go with the 4WD...
