I bought this automobile 9 months ago, and since that time I have enjoyed driving it. I've had no type problem with it. I've been back to the dealer two times, for oil change, lub. and tire rotation. The only problem I have is with the wife wanting to drive the Rava instead of the Buick.

I recently purchased the RAV4 L. It's fully loaded and I am enjoying every little bit of it.I love it! It's so easy to drive and it feels powerful. Even with the AC cranked up it has great pick up. So far I drove over curbs and through major floods due to heavy downpours with no problems whatsoever. The 4WD is awesome. I can't wait until winter.

I just bought my new 2004 rav4 on tuesday June 22,2004! I have to say in the short time that I have had it I am VERY happy with it..I cant wait until I get past the brake in period so my children and I can take some road trips this summer with it. I have wanted a Toyota ever since my mother bought a tercel back in the early 80's I loved that little car and always said that I'd get on one day I would own one.I dont know what took me so long to switch over from ford and dodge!!

Within 400 miles developed a rattle in the car, took it to the dealer. They changed the HEATSHIELD, again another rattle the next day, they repaired it. Now a rattle from the AC ducts in the dash board. Disgusting. I am a busy man ,dont have the time to spend in Service centers. Bought a brand new car for enjoyment. It has become a major source of DISGUST.

Reliable front wheel drive in all weather but snow and rainy wind storms in particular. Moved from east to west coast -- handles great, climbs mountain passes like a champ. Trac system a plus driving in ice and snow. Can cruise along at 80 mph with the rest of the traffic. Fine for city driving parallel parks with ease. Nice stylish car.

Love the look, performance, feel, and gas mileage of the car. Very fun to drive (and I'm coming from a recent model BMW). Only criticism is what others have mentioned: mysterious rattles that can be very annoying. Otherwise it is a great car.

I love this car everybody!!! I got a '95 civic when it was new and this is a welcome change. It's pretty friendly at the gas pump...I've been averaging 28-30 MPG! It's pep and style just mkae it so much fun to drive! The interior is very simple, sporty and user friendly. It's great for hauling stuff too. While you cannot fit everything in a RAV, it's great for trips to the supermarket and home improvement stores. This car is perfect for me and my family. We can fit 4 people reasonably comfortably and we don't find the interior driving noise to be bad at all. I highly reccommend this mini 'ute!

Best Little SUV in Texas

I have driven my RAV4 L all over Texas and have taken two trips out to Las Vegas from Houston and I enjoyed every mile. The little Rav was more than I expected and the 30mpg was great. It handled the hills in New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada with ease. Even in the southwest wend it held its ground. In Northern Arizona I encountered snow and it did very well. The only problem I've ever had is with the rear wheel cover in a car wash that has automated brushes. The brushes tend to pull the cover off so I started using the type of car wash that doesn’t have spinning brushes and now the rear wheel cover is not a problem any more.

Our RAV4 is everthing we expected and more. As long-time loyal Toyota customers (We still have our 1991 Corolla w/170,000 mi.) the RAV4 has met our every expectation with only one minor exception - wind noise. This vehicle is a pleasure to drive and ride in, even on long trips. Acceleration is very good with the more powerful 2004 engine. And design -- We have had a few second glances from young and adult alike. We plan to keep ours a long, long time.

This is my second Rav4. Both of my Rav 4's were dependable in any kind of weather. We get great gas mileage. It is easy and fun to drive and easy to park. It starts no matter how cold the weather has been. It handles snow drifts across highways and holds the road very well when slippery. It is all that is was advertised to be! The exterior and interior design of the new Rav4 is very attractive and just makes you want to get in and drive. The Sterio/CD is great too. There is plenty of head room in the new Rav4 to accomodate my husband. He doesn't feel cramped at all while driving it. Thank you Toyota for consistanly making an excellant product!

Better value than CR-V LX

This year should be big for RAV4 though toyota doesn't put more effort to advertise the fact that by using a 2.4 vvt-i engine with VSC, trac ctrl and disc brakes for 4 wheels, ABS on standard list, RAV4 packs a better value comparing the once class-leader CR-V, esp., at the entery-level trims. Except for the sometimes buzzy engine and high-rev transmission under harder accelerations, I don't have any thing to complain on my mid-january cross country driving from Massachusetts to San Franscisco. If you don't care extra several cubic feets cargo or backseat room, RAV4 offers much better safety features over CR-V LX.

This is the worst car I ever owned. I am lucky to get 17mpg around town and 22mpg on hwy. For a small car, light car it has no guts. It is reliable and has a nice look; however, it really stinks. I just traded mine in for a Saturn SUV.

I got the silver Toyota Rav4 Limited Edition as a graduation present in 2003. It`s a great car overall. The drives are smooth too, despite the potholes in New Jersey. My dad recommended it to me since it tends to snow in our area. It`s a great car for all seasons. I remember ramming up a huge hill of snow. You feel under control. The sunroof during the summer makes it look sexxxxxy.

The 04 Rav4 is a fantastic SUV. It handles the road well and the performance of the vehicle is incredible with the larger engine. The double wishbone suspension at the back is a welcomed improvement. The fog lamp design for the front of the vehicle is impressive and inside the cosmetic changes are very nice to see. You would be crazy not to consider this vehicle is you are searching for an SUV.

Love my RAV 4! Easier to enter and exit than cars or trucks. Much more comfortable to sit in for long periods of driving than my Camry or van was. Can actually get out without walking like Grandpa McCoy. Handles great in country on dirt roads, mud, sand, and fields. Easy to maneuver in interstate and freeway traffic and great visibility. Parking is a cinch, even parallel, and even I can back into a parking place with it - no problemo!

Well...I've only had this car for 2000 miles, but it's an extremely fun car to drive. 'Premium' sound system was poor. I replaced it with four Infinity speakers and an Excelon Kenwood deck because I couldn't get the top of the line system Toyota offered. After about 1000 miles, the engine 'loosened' up and now runs super smooth. Averaging about 28 mph.

From CRV to RAV4 and no regrets

I traded my 2003 CRV to a 2004 RAV4 for the simple reason that the RAV4 handles a tenfold better than the CRV. I found my CRV to be "trucky", FAR too big for a "compact SUV" and had terrible road noise. I would have ranked CRV's seating comfort a 2 for me...the worthless armrests dug into my sides; the legroom in the front was shy of sufficient for me (at 6'1). RAV4 changed ALL of that...I'm glad I got one!!

I first fell in love with the RAV4 in 1996, but it has taken me this long to convince my husband to buy one (he's a Corvette guy). The interior is very spacious and comfortable, especially considering its small overall size. It's fun to drive, has great pickup and lots of room to carry everything from a large TV to our two big dogs. It's fun to take to the beach and very easy to clean out the sand.

Why did I purchase this vehicle?? SIZE SIZE SIZE. With all the SUV makers trying make their SUVs larger and larger, the RAV4 is a truly refreshing choice in a dying breed. It's ultra- compact exterior size enables me to park in the TINIEST of places. It's unbelievably fabulous turning radius makes U-turns a breeze, and it's teeny exterior dimensions make driving on the super-crowded streets of LA a virtually stress-free experience. It's got decent power, is pretty comfy with very good handling for an SUV, and gives reasonable fuel economy (actual calc.21-23mpg city & 26-27hwy avg)

Good handling, milege, breaks. Vehicle stability control and traction control terrific for this class vehicle. Wold prefer a six, not because it does not have enough pep but because it wouldn't have to work as hard. Interior is a little tight. If room in back is paramont, you can probably make a better choice.

The higher displacement 2.4L (vs 2.0L) engine makes a huge difference in performance. For around $25K you get a great many amenities, AWD, all the safety features, and impressive performance, without sacrificing affordability - I'm averaging 27 mpg. I love the 8 spkr sound system, heated leather seats (will come in handy in the winter)...the refreshed looks are lovely, as are the new alloys. Thank you Toyota for the 4 wheel discs this year. This car has it all, without straining your wallet. And it's so damn reliable. Good job Toyota!

After countless weeks poring over the many conflicting reviews at the Consumer Reports, Power, Autobytel, cars.com, Edmunds, et. al. sites, I finally settled on the RAV. There was no consensus on the quality of any car I looked at--from Acura TSX/TL to Honda Accord to Lexus IS to Infiniti G35 to Nissan Murano. I obviously explored a number of possibilites but found in the end that I didn't want to spend too much money on a car, since I couldn't find one that was head and shoulders above the rest. In all of the consumer forums, car owners aired their problems with their vehicles--even the hallowed Honda Accord. Reasons I settled on the RAV4 are listed below.

EXCELLENT CAR!! This is the BEST by far I have ever owned. I drive 110 miles RT every day to my job, and I wanted something that was comfortable, good on gas and reliable. The Toyota RAV4 has proved to be all of this and more....it was very reasonably priced. The RAV4 drives like a 6 cylinder, is comfortable and roomy and has a great stereo/CD/tape deck. Excellent handling in the winter weather and rain. I would recommend this car to anyone, but especially to those who commute any distance. I get the room and comfort of an SUV with the gas mileage of a much smaller car.

I extremely recommend the "L" package that is available. Overall, I have enjoyed my Rav 4 more than I thought I would.
