Moved from 2016 Toyota Tundra to 2019 Hybrid RAV4. This is our first Hybrid and overall satisfied. We had to place the order and wait 4 weeks for the delivery. Ordered with XLE Convenience Package, Entune 3.0 Audio Plus, XLE Tech Package, and XLE Cold Weather Package. In local city drives, I did see up to 41.5 MPG. Recently did an 1800-mile road trip and averaged 38.5 MPG. (Much better than 14MPG on Toyota Tundra). A few things can be improved but overall very satisfied. Driven almost 6 months and accumulated 18200 miles sofa. At this point, I see 41.1 MPG since inception with mixed driving. Overall satisfied. Update as of 12/16/2021: Sofar accumulated 77,500 miles on this SUV. Added new 4 tires at 49K miles. Did fuel pump recall. No unusual expenses were there other than normal routine oil changes. Did not change the brakes yet. Fully happy and satisfied. Overall MPG since inception is 37!!! Update as of 06/17/2022: Accumulated 85,000 miles on this SUV. No unusual expenses were there other than normal routine oil changes. Still with original brake pads. Overall MPG since inception is 35!!! (I see a gradual decrease in MPG. From 41.5 to 35 since inception.) No issues with the Hybrid battery so far. Fully happy and satisfied. Update as of 06/20/2023: Accumulated 110,000 miles on this SUV. No unusual expenses were there other than normal routine oil changes. Still with original brake pads. Overall MPG since inception is 38.95. No issues with the Hybrid battery so far. All good so far.

RAV4 hybrid used on western slope, colorado

Got our Rav4 late April. With territory here much up and down, hybrid appears ideal. So far 47 mpg average seems to hold on short and on longer trips (Moab, Aspen) from Grand Junction. This is a dramatic improvement from our Mazda CX5 (2 liter turbo) that averaged around 30 mpg plus-minus. Very pleased so far. Some quirks with reports via entune system that don't seem to make sense. Will follow up on this when clarified. My rating should be 4.5 Star but such is not available.

Bought this car one week ago. As far as I’m concerned, I would not take any other car regardless of price even if given to me. All kidding aside, this car has great acceleration, great mileage, great storage space, amazing electronics, and remarkable safety features. I particularly like the rearview mirror which is a electronic and has no obstructions. Many other things to rave about. Great car!

This car is a real head shaker, mostly in a good way. I am amazed at the mpg for a 220 hp vehicle that weighs 3,800 lbs and has 135 cu/ft of interior space. It really does have great acceleration for it's class. We are seeing 38 mpg plus on our first tank, and I have not been light footing it. It is a quiet car (but not Lexus quiet) at all times except when under heavy acceletation, I find the noise very typical for a hybrid, not at all objectionable. The media system is like a lot of stuff from Toyota, not flashy, but very workman like, functional without much distraction. While no Android Auto, I am pleasantly surprised at the level of Android phone integration, hands free works great. I am also pleasantly surprised that good quality navigation is provided by the use of a Scout GPS app, and the maps look great on the big screen. But it does have some clugeyness during setup, and Android Auto would certainly be preferred. This is my first car with full driver aids, and again I am pkeasently surprised at how effective they are with few false alarms. Toyota has a mature product suite in this area. Finally, I ambunpleasantly surprised and frankly mystified, that at least the Japanese built version has no visiual display of tire pressure. Virtually every modern car over $25 has this important safety feature that allows drivers to easily identify slow leaking tires before they tigger the TPMS alarm. Shame on you Toyota.

Rav4 Hybrid XLE - All the right bells and whistles

Overall, we looked at hybrid and gas only mid-size SUVs. The Rav4 Hybrid was the clear winner in instant acceleration and of course fuel economy. Overall the suit of safety features is easy and intuitive to use, although the Honda CRV may be a little better performance-wise. Thankfully, the 2019 Rav4 has Apple Carplay, otherwise the car would have been a no-go. Thus far, we are happy with the car and looking forward to many years of comfortable driving and great gas mileage.
