People can say what they want about this piece of garbage, but I've owned nearly 1000 vehicles in my 75 years and this thing is nothing, but a piece of garbage. No one can dispute these FACTS: 1 The only gauge in the car is the gas gauge! So if the alternator, water pump, radiator hoses, or oil pump fails you are SCREWED and won't know it until major damage has already ocurred!! 2. The dash panel is so far away from you that you can't see it!! 3. The car was designed so when the hybrid system fails you are SCREWED, because you can't drive this piece of junk if the hybrid battery fails!! Genius engineering, huh? In addition, the hybrid motor is INSIDE the transmission, so it requires a LOT of hours to replace it!! 4. Everything on car is VERY difficult to get to, so the labor costs are unbelievable. 5.The mileage figures stated by everyone are bogus. The MPG on these cars is so erratic it's unfair to state a specific mpg on them. 6. Unlike every other car things like the EGR valve and PCV valve are failure prone and dealer price to replace them are totally ridiculous. 7. Because they designed these things with a water-cooled egr, that dinky little $300 egr valve gets plugged with soot, as does the intake manifold, so it requires periodic cleaning of those parts, which costs even MORE money!!! 8. Unlike a Honda hybrid Toyotas do NOT employ an auto-shutoff feature to kill the engine when you stop at a stoplight, which costs YOU money in gas!!! Nothing Tiyota did on these carscouldnt have been done better. STAY AWAY FROM TOYOTA HYBRIDS. As a gear head and former custom engine builder I must say that this is THE poorest-designed car on planet earth, designed expressly to force you to pay THOUSANDS of dollars to do work on them that wouldn't be necessary, if it was designed properly in the 1st place.
