Used 1990 Toyota Pickup Consumer Reviews
Love my 1990 Toyota SR5 4X4
Bought this truck new in 1990, Canada. This truck has been amazing for trouble free driving. Truck still looks and drives like the day I bought it with 285,000 kms. now on it. Regular oil changes and maintenance is all it's needed.
A wonderful experience
I got this truck as a hand-me-down from my father. He drove it the first 100,000 miles and I took it after that. In all the time that this vehicle has been in my family, (12 years now), it has been SUCH a great experience. The only issues I have had with this truck stem from it being on the salty New York roads for 12 years. I was expecting this car to last me a few years while I was at college. While my friends are on their third and fourth cars by now, I still have my toyota.

I miss my '90!
We just got a '08 Access Cab and like it but I miss my '90 base truck! Wife could handle the seats and no power steering, etc., so it was time to "age adjust" to a truck with all those comfort features. The new one is nice but my '90 was plain and tough as nails. Only time it ever refused to start was when I left the lights on and drained the battery. Only good news is I sold the truck to a friend in Oregon and he loves it and sings its praises all the time. Funny thing, his wife has the same issue too! A guy thing I guess!
Oh what a feeling!!!
Originally purchased by me in 1992, and still have today August 2009, love my truck. In fall of 1993, I blew a head gasket and cracked my cylinder head, which at the time cost me almost $2,700 and I couldn't give up the truck for that. During January/February of 1998, I had the same hard luck, and had blown my head gasket and consequently cracked my engine block, which at the time would have run me, egads?! Fortunately, a tow truck driver informed me that there was a recall on the truck for the head gasket and to my surprise Toyota rebuilt the whole engine for free with a new block and all I paid for was the cost of new timing belts and water pump! That's with 107,000miles on it!
Great truck
I have to agree with everyone this truck is amazing. It was my fathers truck and it was passed down to me about 8 years ago. I've put this truck through everything, haven't really gotten stuck anywhere when i go four wheeling. the truck has over 200,000 on it and wont die. I recently did a cross country trip with the truck it was 6,000 miles none stop round trip, didn't have one problem. I love this truck it is part of the family. Oh did i mention the engine was and is blown, and it still did it.
