A great little car.

The car gets great mileage and has decent power to boot. It's easy to park, but has plenty of passenger and cargo room. Handling and ride are acceptable. Exterior styling is pretty good, but could be better. Interior looks kind of cheap. I like the center-mounted instrument cluster because the steering wheel doesn't get in the way of the gauges. It's solidly built and won't squeak or rattle. The cd stereo is great. The Scion xA and xB are based on the same platform, but have much less cargo room with the rear seats upright. The echo makes more sense if you need to carry around four people and cargo.

We bought this new and have never had a bad day with it. We sit up nice and high too, and we like where the instrument panel is. It handles great and great mileage. You don't know when you see a good car. Even tall people have found it comfortable, and plenty of luggage space too. Everyone we meet who have one loves theirs too!

Honey of a car

I think it's cute and for the price, it is very reliable and economical. If you're looking for a good, sound economical small car, I think the Echo is a good choice. The trunk is suprisingly roomy and the seating is tall and very adequate. The down side is it's a bit noisy when driving on a highway. I wish it was better insulated from road noises. And it does sway when passing a semi. Otherwise, I like my Echo just fine.

Actually a 4-door HATCHBACK-Canada

I've never loved my car before this--I always bought for practicality and was very happy with the much-recommended, long-lived Tercels since 1984. The ECHO HATCHBACK is cute, fun, different, economical, and comfortable. Maybe not so different anymore--they're popping up everywhere! I get 46MPG (the larger Canadian gallons)in real life driving, which has only a few 5 minute stretches of 80km/h (50mph)--no real highway driving. Toyota makes terrific, reliable cars, and now they have a CUTE one too!
