I have now owned the car for over a year and a half. I'm 22 and may be a little ruff with it at times. I love the car, but had a few problems with it. At 22,000 miles two tires blew and by 30,000 I had replace the other two. At about 15,000 miles the fuel injector had to be replaced already. The clutch fried out at 37,000 miles and had to pay $1,400 to have it replaced. But over all I wouldn't trade it for anything, I don't know why it's just a nice car.

I just purchased my first new car a 2005 Corolla S. So far I love just about everything about it. I love the color (Indigo Ink Pearl), I think this color stands out among all the other colors offered in the Corolla. The ride is very smooth and very responsive. Fuel economy is great. The interior is very sharp, clean, and comfortable. There is also a good amount of room in the backseat and trunk for a sub-compact car. Toyota definetly exceeded my expectations, I highly recommend the Corolla S.

OK for rental, would not buy.

Had this vehicle for three days as a rental in Denver, CO and it suited this purpose quite well. I guess as a commuter or grocery-getter, it would be a reasonable choice. The main problem is that this car is WAY underpowered (getting on the expressway is scarry business and having the pedal to the floor on hills was not uncommon) and not fun to drive at all. I've driven 1.0L in Europe that performed better. The driving dynamics seem awkward at best, likely due to the vague steering. The passenger comfort is decent for this class of car but overall, this car is mediocre at best. I would consider a Focus instead as it's more fun to drive and has the 2.3L.

The car is what you pay for. It is very economical, but not what I expected from a Toyota. If you want a cheap car that you want as a beater this car will do. Don't look for quality when buying this car. This was my first Toyota and I probably won’t go back. However, I would recommend it to others. Toyota wasn't for me.

I bought this car based on years of good reliability and gas mileage. It's been a good car in the short time I've owned it.
