Used 2018 Toyota Camry XLE 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 8A) Consumer Reviews
Safty problem
This car has a trunk open button on the keys and opens when not wanted! Last night I took off my jeans and in the morning my trunk was opend and it rained all night on my computer equipment weting all my stuff in the trunk. It also happend while driving almost causing a crash. One other time went out to eat, when I got inside looked out through the window and my trunk was open someone could have stolen all my equipment in my trunk.

Traded my 2014 Lexus IS for a 2018 Camty Xle
I decided my Lexus IS was not a very practical for my current needs. I was planning on getting a Camry XSE V6 to replace the IS. After driving the XSE, I felt the ride was a little too harsh, so I drove the XLE V6. It rode great, and was very quick, but the dealer suggested that I try the 4 as well. I was very greatful that he suggested that, because although the 4 is not nearly as quick as the 6, it was actually .2 seconds faster 0 to 60 than the IS I was replacing. I currently have just over 33,000 miles on the Camry, and we are very happy with the car. We drove to Colorado from Wisconsin and got over 34mpg even though a lot of the trip has speed limits of 70 or 75 mph. It also has a lot of room for anything we need to take along on our road trips. The Camry is smooth, quiet, and very comfortable, and the back seat is very roomy. We have taken many road trips and enjoy having complete confidence and total comfort. I tend to trade cars every 3 or 4 years and at this point I am planning on replacing my 2015 with a new 2018 Camry this fall. The 2018 has been totally redesigned, and it looks great.

Run Away
Do not buy or lease this car if you are looking for reliable technology. I have a 2018 XLE Camry. The infotainment system is worse than a 1995 Garmin. Seriously, do not buy or lease this car if you expect reliable navigation or Bluetooth connectivity. You are forced to use Scout navigation. I have a note 9, previously had an S7 Edge. The navigation utilizes your phone by using an application called scout GPS. This app takes your phone over by always popping to the front if connected to the car. This is highly irritating if your are trying to start another app to play music or operate the phone in any way even if the car is stopped. It crashes and drains your battery as well. Not to mention, it will disconnect during your trips which can cause you to miss exits or streets. The Bluetooth is spotty too. There are times it will go into an infinite drop and connect loop until you either restart your phone or turn the car off and on. Also, I have issues where if someone accidentally dials you then hangs up immediately, but the car screen still registers the call, it can sometimes get stuck in a forever ringing noise that you cannot answer or decline. Even if you disconnect Bluetooth and remove your phone from the equation it will still continue to ring until the car is shut off and back on again. Good luck with restarting your car while your in the number one lane on the freeway or in a spot that isn't safe to pull over. The ring volume cannot be adjusted. This also prevents all other sounds or sources from working while stuck in infinite ring mode. Due to these issues, I will never purchase another Toyota. I've spoken with executives at Toyota and they were somewhat responsive but overall there isn't anything they can do. There is no plan to update the Entune system on previous models to use Android auto or apple play. You literally have to purchase a newer model car to get new technology. This is beyond frustrating as the software in this car is completely upgradeable by design. They are also aware of how terrible the Entune system is and admitted that most people don't like it. If you want better technology go buy a used 2005 Civic. It will operate with muss less frustration.

HORRIBLE SCOUT GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM
The Scout GPS system is abominable!!! Did the team that installed this system even test it out? They could not have! I have been lost at least a half dozen times in the three weeks I have owned this car. It just cuts out anywhere and everywhere. Antennae is probably defective and since it runs on cell phone, the signal is sometimes cut off. PLUS it uses my Iphone 8 battery at an alarming rate with the entune, remote and Scout apps. I HATE IT!! Had I known this was the Navigation I would not have bought the car., I have owned four other Camry XLE and LOVED the navi system. Now I am angry and frustrated. PLEASE change this back to Integrated system in 2019 and allow 2018 to also go back to integrated system.

Give Me the Old Camry's Back!!
To update my review on my beeping Camry, I ended up trading it in, after only 8,000 miles. There was this strange noise coming from the left driver side, down low, and it got worse with cold weather. Very loud when driving on the highway. I took it back to the dealer and they kept the car for one week and had the head honcho's look at it and guess what, they could not fix the problem!! I traded it for the RAV4 2019 which beeps just as much, but no noise. And I like it so much better. It has its own issues, but I am getting used to them. I would not get the 2018 V6 Camry, because you might end up with that same noise!! It does merge a heck of a lot better, on the highway, than the RAV4.
