Paint Chips Easy, Bad Acceleration

We were about to buy a Rav4, but my wife loved the Camry design. So we bought it. It hesitates to accelerate. All this "drive by wire" is crap. It takes seconds for the computer to react to the pedal. Give me good ol' cable. The paint is the worst. 9000 miles and it has almost 100 chips and holes on the front bumper. The worst cheap paint. The rest is nice about the car, but man those two can overpower the nice things about the car. MPG are lies, read the EPA testing procedures and you will know why this car says 34mpg. You will never get 34. 50/50 city/hwy, we get 25mpg average. EPA lies.

I've had my Camry for 6 years now. It has never broken down, and I've never had any problems. I feel safe in the car and its got quite a lot of pick up. The build quality is pretty good. The one upgrade I did do an was worth it was add like stock after market GPS radio, you can find a review of the model I used here: abrandao.com/2014/07/23/review-generic-toyota-camry-car-radio-navigation-head-unit knowing how reliable my Camry is, I'm definitely considering another Toyota.

Purchased new 2007 Toyota Camry, big let down

This car hasn't performed anywhere near to what we were hoping. At 36K miles it began burning oil to which the dealer said it's normal. At 100k miles, Toyota knew they had a big problem and recognized it as excessive oil consumption. The unfortunate part being that we lost confidence that the car would last very long given it was burning a quart of oil every oil change as far back as 36k. At around 95k, Toyota finally did the engine work required and it stopped burning oil. At 100k miles, the engine mounts went and were changed with OEM mounts by the dealer and the car vibrates after the change when in drive at a stop. 110k miles the lower power steering return line rusted through, clearly due to a poor design (lowest point of metal). At 120k the flex hose pipe went (normally a $50 part), but with Toyota you have to buy a lot more for $900. So we are about to purchase a new car shortly and don't have a good feeling about the quality put into these cars anymore. At 130k, the radiator top seam leaked and needed replacing, the alternator began to whine along with the idler tensioner pully. $800 more. How is this car any better than a domestic POS? The only plus side is the resell value is decent. Update: I forgot to mention the drivers side sun visor failure, apparently there was a silent program to replace these if you brought it up to the dealer which ended years ago. How about doing a recall? Nope, cost avoidance... the visor flops down and won't stay up, it's neither fully down or fully up. Anyway, I paid to had this replaced but annoyed that Toyota recognizes the problem, but didn't send anything out to owners. Making it really hard to buy a new Toyota.

I own the 07 Camry which has excessive oil consumption issue. See…http://www.toyotaproblems.com/trends/excessive-oil-consumption/. Toyota recongnized the problem but will not repair the issue under warranty. They declined our car even when we brought the car in at 59,508 when we noticed the car was using 1 qt of oil each 1,000 miles. They did repair the issue on some camry's and then stopped the warranty once they realized how many camry's have this issue. It should be a recall on the failed piston rings and Toyota should repair. There is a class action suite against Toyota but little or NOTHING will be done for the individual owners. Shame on Toyota for failing to take care of a manufacture's issue.

Researched Heavily - Camry #1 By Far

WOW! Smooth and responsive interior is as luxurious as you can get without slapping an L on the grill. I only had to buy the CE model because it comes very well equipped. Since I've had it I've put 5100 miles on it and not even a hint of any problems! If any one is even considering buying a new car i highly recommend the camry over any other vehicle! It's roomy, stylish, affordable, and if estimates are true I'll get the best trade in value when i'm done!
