Great Car for the Price
Have owned this car since 03. Bought it as an off lease car w/24K miles. Now has 72K miles and have never been to the shop. I maintain the car myself and find it very easy to service. We drive the car normally and get 28-30 MPG city and have seen almost 40 MPG with the cruise set to 70-75 mph. Not very inspiring to drive, but what a great car for the everyday commute and plenty of room. Paint is starting to peel on rear quarter pannel, but it's now 6 years old and stays outside. Installed aftermarket 17" rims w/performance tires and instantly felt like a different auto!! Overall I am a Toyota customer for good.
2002 cmary xle
I bought this car based on quality, exterior looks and interior looks. Performance was important but not at the top for consideration. However, my expectations for performance are based on every day driving needs, not on image or hard driving. I don't drive my cars hard. This car is more than adequate for all normal driving needs. My other car was an 1997 acura cl which drove/performed very nicely. This XLE models is Lexus like in its looks and quality. Indeed, my black XLE can easily be mistaken for a black 2002 Lexus ES 300. This is a very attractive car.

Toyota like a war tank.
To SNP Camry..The vibration on your new car comes from the way the tires are mounted. As you may know, toyota does not install good tires on its cars. My suggestion, take your car to the nearest dealer and ask the technician to dismount the tires. By doing so, they will be able to match the two marks, inside the tire and the other being on the rim. In light of that, the technician should consider doing a dynamic balance on the wheels and should not experience any problems thereafter.
Best car of the 7 we've owned
We purchased this new, and after 7 years, I have had only one repair, other than routine maintenance. The breaks needed to be replaced after 85,000. The car is extremely quiet, which I really like. It now has 93000 miles, and I expect to have it another 7 years!
Going Strong
I bought the car from someone at 114k miles in 2013, now 2016 I have 258k. I've not had any major issues with the car, the most is getting a new radiator about a year and a half ago. It's currently burning oil, but it's a 2002 and I drive a lot.
