Used 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid Consumer Reviews
A hybrid that makes saving gas a blast!
This is our 3rd hybrid. We owned a Honda Insight, and currently have an 04 Toyota Prius. This one has got everything we desire in a comfortable, well appointed auto, along with excellent gas mileage. The EPA's can be attained, and even passed with a bit of "hybrid driving technique". If I maintain a freeway speed of 60-62, and avoid frequent passing, I get 40-41 mpg on my daily commute. In town averages 35. The hybrid power train works as smooth as glass. Seating is supportive and comfortable. The heating/cooling system is state-of-the-art, the JBL sound system sounds superb (an option), and the navigation system is decent. This is one of those cars that just feels right from the get-go.
Update to my Aug 08 review
After more than 6 months of driving my 09 TCH I still think it's one of the best cars I have ever owned. I was getting between 34-42 MPG when I first got it, but that was being easy on the gas peddle, now, with much more aggressive driving, I'm getting 28-34 MPG. Still impressive for a large car. I just found out my car ins. for the hybrid is HALF the cost of the Highlander I traded in!

Outstanding car!!
This car is both luxurious and economical. The driving experience is quiet and soothing. I do a lot of highway driving and it's just what the doctor ordered. The brakes are especially impressive, but the gas mileage is probably the best part. The gas mileage feedback system really helps you drive more economically.
Fun to Drive
I traded in a 4Runner on the Camry Hybrid. I went from 15 MPG to 38.6 MPG I drove from the DC area to Johnstown, PA over the weekend. The trip is about 220 miles one way going up and down mountains and cruising up there at the speed limit +5 on cruise control I got 38.6 MPG. I got a red Camry with every bell and whistle. The nav system is OK. Most of what it tells you is on road signs: "exit 38 is 1/2 mile on the left" sort of thing.
11 weeks 5000 miles
Averaging 40 MPG per tankful. 42 MPG was my "high score". This car is awesome. We took it on vacation and averaged 38 MPG on the highway without suffering... air conditioning, 70+ MPH, etc. The body style is tight and makes the vehicle look very classy. Good trunk space fits 3 sets of golf clubs. If I could get my wife to drive with less of a lead foot, we could surpass 40 MPG, but oh well. The service light just came on and it makes regular maintenance easy as it will bug you to death if you don't get it in.
