Used 2006 Toyota Avalon Consumer Reviews
Avalon Review
Best car I have ever owned. Very comfortable, gobs of room, and lots of high tech stuff. In effect it is the makings of a Lexus LS 430 at about half the cost without all the flash. Same people make it and it gets better MPG, uses regular gas, and is only 10 horsepower less. Unless you have money to burn, get this car not an LS. (Although if I had money to burn I would consider the LS.)
Toyota Avalon Limited
Comfortable, quiet car with a few creaks and moans. Didn't expect this from Toyota. Shudders sometimes on slight acceleration uphill. Seems to be going away the more the car is driven. Frankly, I've driven Toyotas before and expected a bit more from their flagship sedan.

BEST CAR IN ITS CLASS - PERIOD.
For the price nothing, absolutely nothing, comes close in this class. Lexus, Acura, Infinity you just don't cut the mustard. Wonderfully designed and built AMERICAN CAR, solid performance, fully appointed, eloquent style, comfortable, Toyota reliability - and a GREAT price!!!! Why throw your money down the tub to get a "fancy" label on the trunk? I am extremely happy with this TOYOTA and have no doubt I made the best possible buy. This car will appeal to smart shoppers that do their homework when looking for the absolute best performance and quality in a car - for the lowest price. Not for those that are willing to pay more for their clothes just for the "fashion" label.
A smooth ride
As my BMW 330i lease was coming to an end, I learned that a second kid was on the way. I knew I needed something bigger, but I did not want to give up sportiness, power, etc., completely. I checked out a lot of vehicles, including the Charger, Altima SE-R, Azera and Maxima. Bottomline, the Avalon Touring easily offered the best combination of things I was looking for in a new car. It has power, acceleration, decent handling (you can take moderate turns aggressively), room, comfort, good gas mileage, Toyota reliability... and, the interior of the Touring is sporty. I hate fake wood trim and probably would not have purchased a different trim if the Touring did not exist.
Well Rounded Sedan
This is my first Toyota! Finally getting away from SUVs. It handles well, and surprised me with the quick acceleration. We bought it for it's size, but it gets really good gas mileage! The CD changer is nice, but would have liked the option for the JBL system on the Touring edition. Overall, we are really satisified, lots of features and luxury ... This car is really a Lexus!!
