Used 2006 Toyota Avalon Consumer Reviews
Flies Like An Eagle.
Two trips to Las Vegas and back, did not suffer from driver fatigue nearly as bad as the last car that I owned. The car actually got 31.1 m.p.g. at the speed of 82 m.p.h. with a slight tail wind. Very stable passing tractor trailers. The electric seats adjust to fit your favorite position. The stereo system is really killer great. Minimal wind noise, some road noise. Lots of people wanted to know more about it. I burned 87 octane gas. When you burn gasohol, you get fewer m.p.g., but you keep our dependence on foreign oil down. I, personally do not want to go back to Iraq. The other boys I work with like it and want to drive it. My wife likes it, too. Although it is lacking on trunk space.
Dream on wheels
I've been reading consumer and auto magazines for close to a year and finally splurged. The Avalon Ltd. is close to the Lexus with about $5,000 savings in your pocket. Everything was standard. Ride incredable, reclining back seats, more gadgets than you can imagine, all with Toyota reliability. Used prices are actually more than the cost new from the dealer. Mileage 29-31 400+ miles between refills.

Avalon 2006 Limited
Purchased the Limited today, very happy with design and features. It is a huge car, no comparison in inside space with Camry. And so quiet, I had to go outside to make sure the motor is running, you can't hear a thing inside. This car can do more than I can imagine so far. Limited rules!
Not Impressed so far!
Bought the top of the line Limited model with all the bells and whistles except for NAV which I find useless. The engine is pretty quick and the interior room is good. I was dismayed to find after the first month that the transmission was leaking on my garage floor. Thankfully the dealer fixed that. The car handles well but is noisier than expected. I also think the trunk is too small and find it incredible that Toyota doesn't install some kind of exterior door protection trim molding on a 36K car! I'm also not overly fond of the light fake wood but I do like the silver accents.
Options I can do without
I just picked up my 2006 Avalon limited last friday. I've got a whopping 52 miles on it right now. It was the dealers show piece at the dealership and at the local mall during the recent Presidents holiday weekend. With 52 miles under my belt, all I can say is its quite, comfortable, powerful and good looking. It's loaded with everything, however this is where the rub comes in. I really could have done without the Laser cruise control, remote engine start, and blizzard white which would have saved me something around $1100 - $1400. So if your not an anxious buyer and can tune out the hype, order what you want and save.
