Our Subaru 2015 Outback Limited is great for the price. The Outback is great for what you get. Safety is great comfort is good. No problems in the last year of ownership. We plan on staying with Subaru. The 2017 that I read about will have more upgrades So go and try one out.

The eyesight system has gone out 3 times, Extreme!y frustrating. The rear liftgate works about 50% of the time. The other 50% you have to manually lift it up. Had the problem occur under the warranty period, but the dealers could not fix it. I have had it to the dealer 4 times to fix, but they haven't been able to fix it. Will not buy another Subaru.

I wanted to share my experiences after more than four years of ownership. Reading through others reviews I can say that many of the problems and issues others have experienced are common to my 2015 Outback as well. First I should probably say that overall it has been a decent car and want to believe that the quality of all cars are not what they used to be. For an all wheel drive car, the principal reason for buying, it does not like cold weather. In 30 ish or lower temperatures the car moves sluggishly and find yourself hammering the throttle to get above 35 mph. It sounds rough as well when cold. After driving 7 miles or so then things become normal again. The factory tires were fair in snow and were gone at about 12,000 miles. I have found myself stranded on 3 occasions with a dead battery. If you are cleaning the car and leave the doors and hatch open the battery is dead enough to prevent starting the engine as well. As far as the rear hatch, sometimes it only opens a fraction of an inch after pressing the button. And yes, mostly when your hands are both full. The dealer tells me I do not know how to press the open button "correctly". I have found 2 ways to close the hatch when this happens. 1. Repeatedly raise and slam until it latches or 2. Press an hold the open button and eventually the hatch locks closed. It will always work properly after this procedure. As others have stated in reviews, when I had trouble with the engine cutting out while driving , every warning indicator in the instrument panel was glowing or flashing. After having it towed to a dealer, they diagnosed and replaced a manifold pressure sensor to repair the car. Why you would need to get all those failure indicators, especially brake system, is a real mystery that Subaru wont even address. The vibrating sound inside the car when traveling less than smooth road surfaces is from the plastic cover over the eyesight cameras. Annoying ! My gas mileage is good when I drive slowly up hill, Take a looong time to get up to 55 mph, and coast downhill when possible. These tricks will get me 27 mpg but only in the warm summer months. When its cold out the thirst for fuel and warm ups knock off about 7 mpg. Be sure to keep the gas tank full in cold weather since the fuel door tends to freeze shut and wont open when your at the gas station. It still does this even after Subaru replaced the filler door. This Subaru is comfortable, offers good leg room, goes well in the snow with replacement tires, and drives ok with the 4 cylinder engine. My experience has been that Subaru doesn't want to acknowledge and try to fix problems with their product . For example the dead battery issue gets the normal response "cant find anything wrong" You must have ...... Also know, by reading the owners manual ,that there is a service schedule and not using Subaru branded materials and labor could result in bad things happening. Subaru parts and labor are more than premium priced. I plan to keep this car a long time and hope it can survive.

Great car with superb safety features. This is our second Outback and the 2020 redesign was great.

Handles well in varying road coditions. Gets over 30 mpg on most trips. Easy oil change. All wheel drive is very effective and efficient. Interior has room for a lot of groceries, boards, etc.

This car served me well over the three years I owned it (2017-2020) as I just sold it this week due to high demand and prices for used cars. I loved the wagon and my friends were surprised I got rid of it. It's great for hauling dogs, people, and even queen sized mattresses (very proud that it fit). It's slow, but with good handling. It's safe, but not overly pushy - though the noises and beeps are pretty irritating. The only things I think that are important to consider about this car as issues are as follows: the A/C takes a long time to get cold (fixed this is 2018 MY), the touchscreen nav shows weird patterns when in the sunlight making it nearly unreadable, the doors don't auto lock (only car I've ever had not do that), and small trim pieces have not held up well (sunroof seals, red stickers on door locks, fake wood, etc.). Otherwise it's positives are great: seats fold down from trunk with ease, the power trunk is nice (though not super quick), the eyesight system works really well for road trips, and the engine is reliable.

170,000 and going strong. I would like to have some of the newer features like blind spot warning, and assisted braking, so will be looking for a new one.

I bought the 2015 outback LIMITED with Navi. I have owned over 2 dozen cars, having been in the car business with Honda for many years. This is the finest car of all I have owned! The Subaru company works harder at quality and design then even Honda or Toyota. Being the little guy makes them compete harder and it shows. Couldn't possibly be more Pleased!! 😀

After 142,000 trouble free miles we opted for a different color and bought a 2022 model! Subaru and their dealers are wonderful to deal with - honest and fair pricing! Took almost seven months for the new outback to appear - but worth the wait.

This is my first car and it is a great all around vehicle. I’ve had my fair share of driving other cars but the subie is by far my favorite. Love it so much!!! I am so confident driving around in winter too with the fantastic awd and good ground clearance. This subie will never let you down! Very roomy but also a good size for city driving! Seriously so amazing I plan on keeping this car for a very long time!!
