The car is great, the base engine has enough power. Having trouble with setting up sending and Receiving text messages. So far the car is excellent . Just came back from a trip the car got 33 mpg. The car is doing great. I thing it's a mistake stopping production on this fine car. People will come back to a car in the future. What goes around comes around.

Get the Sport Trim

Coming from a WRX that I’ve had for 9 years, I was looking for better ride, interior comfort etc. I tried a premium Legacy but that base engine didn’t do it for me. The Sport really feels like a big sedan with big power and has updated handling without the stiffness. It’s quiet and composed. I can’t find any flaws at this time. Purchased for mid $30’s and with all the extras so to speak, I feel like this is a bargain luxury car. The only thing it doesn’t have is leather seating but has that combo fake leather and cloth. I find them to be extremely comfortable. Love the interior as well.

Very Nice Cruiser/Grocery Getter

2023 Subaru Legacy Limited 4dr Sedan AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT)

30k on the clock with absolutely no issues. Great highway cruiser and grocery getter. Lots of features that have taken me a while to learn though. I have read the stop/start is annoying to many and it is to me as well. I just press the icon and turn it off when I start the car each time. I will be investing in a stop/start eliminator when my warranty is up (currently $99.00). It's more smooth riding than my Lexus RX 350, gets better mpg, 27 town, 33 hyw. The engine/transmission is on the loud side when accelerating. The Harmon Karden sound is great!. The navigation requires an address or scrolling through the nav menu. We usually use our phones with Google maps via bluetooth. Has built in voice recognition to set temp, heated seats, a/c and many other functions and it works fine for us. Drivers can register on the screen "settings" for seat, mirror settings, plus any other preferred settings and will be adjusted for that particular driver. Drivers seat retracts when entry and adjusts when facial recognition scans. I recommend reading the "Getting Started" manual first, it's smaller than the huge owners manual. No rattles or squeaks so far. It's a very solid feeling and driving car, with a feeling of riding on rails. The a/c is ice cold, heat is hot, with separate setting for driver and passenger. Rear passenger seats are heated, with a/c and heat vents and two usb ports. The back seats fold down 60/40 for extra room. One feature I really like are the directional headlights, they move as you turn. Bluetooth connects instantantly, 2 wired usb locations are very tight toget to. I changed the trunk light bulb to an LED bulb because the original bulb was laughably dim. The drivers seat has a section that you can pull out and extend for long legged drivers. I don't think it's real looker on the outside, but the interior is plush. After reading reviews about Subaru's philosophy they are committed to building safe, practical, sturdy and durable vehicles. BTW those that have a hate-on for the Boxer engine that is built by Subaru in Japan, I have a car sitting in my garage with a Boxer type engine that is 61 years old, with 378k miles on it and it still runs fine, has had no major engine work either. Engine oil changes are required every 6 mos. or 6k miles. Front and rear differentials fluid change at 60k miles. The cvt transmission has a chain drive not a rubber composite belt as other failing cvt's have and has lifetime fluid (I may do a 60k cvt fluid drain and fill, NOT flush though) even though some dealership apparently refuse to do it. We really are impressed with this car and hope to keep it for at least 250k reliable miles.

Clearcoat/Paint trouble

I just bought this car in January and the clearcoat/paint is defective. Took it to my local body shop and was told the entire car needs painted. It's not acid rain as my new car is parked next to my 2012 Legacy and my daughter's 2014 Ford Escape and there is no problem with their clearcoat/paint.

Disappointed

Although this car drives nice and has many nice features especially a big screen to view all applications, there are some flaws. First the driver's door fit is not fit very well. You must firmly shut it which in my previous Subaru was not the case. The rear window defogger is anemic at best and does not clear ice or snow but merely a fogged window. The door opener does not work unless the car is on which in the previous model, it was powered all the time. The car is not as quiet in the cabin as my previous model. The trunk opener is improved and opens all the way when you use the remote. The heated seats are warmer, and the gas tank opens much better than the previous model.
