my wrx
This car makes me want to drive. I have owned several sports cars in the past, but this wagon has the best overall feel.
Real world performance
This is not the fastest car I've owned, but it certainly does most things well. Build quality is excellent, my only problem in 10,000 miles was a cracked windshield. Gas mileage is ok at an average of 24mpg mixed city/highway. The ride is firm but supple and this car swallows up potholes and ridges with aplomb, unlike most sports cars I've owned. Grip is limited with stock tires but still outcorners most other cars, in the wet, it's superb!

Transmission Problems
I bought this car about six months ago with 47k miles on it. Pretty low for an '02. I was having problems with getting it into first gear and reverse so I took it in to the local dealership. They told me that there was a problem (I expected it to be the clutch), and was told that there is a problem with the synchronizers in the transmission! Seems a little low mileage, well maybe a lot low, to be having problems with a transmission. I haven't added any aftermarket parts and take care of all my cars! Might be a lemon, but seems to be a ridiculous deal. $1500+ bill just to get started. Oh, and the warranty just expired 4 months ago due to an '01 delivery date. Wonderful!
2002 Suabru WRX Wagon
This is the most fun you can have with a station wagon, or sport wagon as Subaru calls it. Plenty of room for four adults with the wagon portion providing ample room for storage. The front seats offer excellent lateral support but can be a little firm for long drives. This is the first car that I have owned more than a year and I still love it as much as the day I bought it.
Its not just a sports sedan, its a WRX
Being a teenager, I was immediately attracted to this vehicle when I heard about it early 2002. My Mom was seriously considering the most popular car in Vermont, the Subaru Outback wagon. When I heard about the WRX I hounded my parents about it every time a we discussed new cars. After about a year of looking, we found a used 2002 Subaru WRX sedan, black, that my Mom loved. We got it in late March and have been loving it ever since. The WRX's cornering, acceleration, ride, and responsiveness are unparalled by any car in its price range or even those more expensive for that matter.
Try NOT to buy one after you drive one!!
This is one of the fastest cars on the road and yet you get the room of a wagon and the comfort of all wheel drive. This was one of the worst winters in CT and I made it to work on time every day and got home safely. Now that the snow is gone, I can really put the turbo to work! It is sooo fast. I dare you to drive this car and NOT buy it.
look out handa
nice car very fast i like the handling
not much to say
This car rocks. I consider myself a car enthusiast at the age of 25. This car was in my budget limits, and there is nothing out there that comes close to the value that you get out of this car. 227 hp, AWD, FUNNN!
Real wagon review
Reasearched for months, test drove 4x before buying. And am I pleased AWD,acceleration, cornering, and ride are fantastic for a wagon.Great seats, driver position.Good gas milage of 20 to high 20's depending on how driven.Excellent safety rating.Have been in 6 in. of snow and ice leaving all behind.Gear box notchy at first, but smoothes out nicely.Handles canyon twisties, elavation gains like sports cars.Ride is firm and steering is very responsive.Best car I have owned!Love my Subie!!!!
Impressive Impreza
Handling is excellent. Great front legroom, poor rear seat legroom. Stylish. Fun to drive. Peppy engine.
Scooby Dooby Doo Where are u...
2002 OBS: I have had my OBS for 3 weeks & I throughly enjoy the car. My only gripes is I wish the seats were firmer & more supportive. Also, the manual transmission is not as smooth as I would like & finding reverse is fuff sometimses.
If only....
they had made it a bit more comfy. The interior looks and feels cheap. The cupholders stink! (one lets cups fly out around curves).
I love my Subaru!!
Perfect, perfect, and more perfect.
I Like It!
The car is fun to drive and (so far) it's reliable. I'll let you know what happens at 200,000+ miles.
fun fun fun fun fun
Granted my last car was a dog, but I'm extremely happy with my rex so far. Contrary to popular opinion, I find the low RPM power to be quite acceptable (it supposedly is about 80% peak torque at 2000 RPM). I read one review here that said that the rex has understeer problems. THere is no wy the reviewer has actually driven this car! If anything, this car has oversteer. If I want it to, I can get the tihng to pivot! True, the looks are contriversial, but they've grown on me and now i really like it. Go ahead and call her an ugly girl, but she's got personality...
WRX R us
Great Car!!!
Brilliant
The Subaru WRX offers awesome acceleration and corners like it's on freaking rails. I'd purchase life insurance and make a will on the day you take delivery - this car inspires almost unrealistic confidence in my driving abilities - it's that solid. Be sure to order the short throw shifter and the upgrades to the speakers and amp.
Impreza is awsome
2.5 TS waggon. 4 spd auto. I've owned Hondas and Mazdas. This is the most solid and well built hatchback I have owned. They call it a Sport Waggon. I feels very sporty in 'round town handling. It darts in and out of traffic far better than my accord or 323 ever did. Fun! Fun! Fun! And I don't feel guitly about it. It get good gas mileage and costs less than a similaly equiped Honda.
WRX = high performance for cheap
I bought my '02 WRX wagon exactly 2 years ago with 60,000 miles on it, just out of warranty. I now have 102,000 miles on it and have only replaced the brakes and done regular maintenance, mobile 1 synthetic only. While it may need more maintenance than I've given it, it still has given me no problems whatsoever. This car is super fast for a wagon. Nobody expects to see a subaru wagon to pull off the line as quick as the WRX wagon. I can get to 60mph, with a passenger, in 6 seconds which is impressive for a 2.0L 4cyl. Also, the AWD performs better in 6in or less snow than my Jeep Cherokee.

What an Upgrade
i just bought a used 2002 WRX wagon. WHAT A RIDE! got a sweet deal on it. At first I was considering the Mazda3 but I was big on performance. What an upgrade compared to my slow 1994 Honda accord. My commute is so much fun now! Driving in the rain is not a problem with the AWD...so far so good. Filling my tank up with premium gas will hit the wallet hard, but the good outweighs the bad.
Great car
First thing that I noticed when i bought my used WRX was how great of shape the interior was. It was not worn out at all, besides the drivers seat. Mileage does not seem to effect Subarus much. It runs perfect.
Super Wagon
I love this car! I've whipped some guys with more traditional sport cars at the red light and mine handles well in the snow too! And it's a wagon!
Fun to drive, not fun to maintain
The car is fun drive in the worst of weather. Handling and acceleration are good with the 5 speed manual. Its been a good car for ski trips and mountain bike weekends.
