2014 Forester XT w/ Eyesight system. Had put almost 2k miles on it already. Great so far...fuel economy is right on par with the EPA. The first two tanks of premium gas I was worried since it seamed to drink the gas, but after that was done, it improved drastically. Its possible to get over EPA with a controled foot...I had a hybrid so Im used to it. I was in between this and a CX-5 and the choice is made easier once you drive the XT...handles much better than the 2.5 IMO. CX-5 drives great but its rather small and hard to see out of. Forester feels bigger and more airy and the XT handles amazing, maybe even a bit better than the CX-5 since it feels much more planted to the road.

Have owned this Subaru (my first) for just three months and am baffled by all the wonderful reviews. The gas mileage is nowhere near what was advertised. Its ride is rough and bumpy on anything other than totally smooth roads. The car has so many interior rattles and clunking noises that it's impossible to enjoy a quiet drive through the countryside. Today, with typical cold winter temps, my driver's side door didn't open easily, the windshield wipers were still totally frozen after the defroster was running for a full 20 minutes and none of the power windows would open, even after another 20 minutes of driving with the heat at full blast. Am I supposed to wait until April for them to open?

Nothing I don't like about it

Over this ast few years I've owned an Audi A4, a Prius, a Mini Cooper S, a VW GTI, and a Chevy Cruze Eco. All were good cars but each had characteristics I didn't care for right from day 1. Not the case with my new Forester. I haven't found a single thing I don't like about this car (well okay, I didn't like the wheel rims so I replaced them with some I do like - but that's it). This 2.5i is the bottom of the line Forester, but it has everything I would ever want in a car, including cruise control, which, on other cars I looked at was available only on the upscale models. Oh, by the way, this color, this eggshell metallic white, was a thousand dollar option on my 2000 Audi.

If you are sensitive to rattles coming from the dash...do not buy because the rattle will drive you nuts! If you love to hear annoying rattles coming from the display council...you will love this car. I prefer peace and quiet in my cars. It's too bad, I really like the car , but until they can make one that does not have rattles...I'm not interested in buying another one. RATTLE TRAP: RATTLE NOISES FROM DASH WILL DRIVE YOU NUTS; OTHER WISE GREAT CAR. If you hate rattling noises this is not your car. Too bad. It is perfect otherwise.

A 2014 that burns 2qts between oil changes?! BAD

I've had my 2014 for about 20,000 miles now. I love the car, I love it's handling, safety, form factor, and many other facets. It's like a billy goat in the rain and snow, hugs roads like very few other SUVs and gets 32MPG on the highway. But when the low oil light came on several thousand miles short of the recommended service interval, I immediately thought something was wrong. I topped it off and went right to an oil change shop. When they looked at the mileage and heard that it was 1.5 Qt down 2.5K miles short of the recommended interval, they too though something was wrong, and refused to service it. Looks like I need to head to the dealer and start a consumption test.
