Love this car. Trouble free miles. Smooth handling, quiet and good visibility. No major problems. Outside temp sensor failed and was replaced quickly under warranty. Handles fantastic in the snow and ice.

First , I never thought that I would ever buy a Japanese Car (I always bought Ford's).But I wanted to make sure I was getting the best car for the money so I test drove and researched many cars in this class.I was pretty much sold on the Forester as soon as I drove it.Now I know why Consumer Reports ranks this as the #1 vehicle in it's class. The Forester rides and handles just like a car. It is very nimble, corners like a champ and peppy for a 4 cyl.It gives you all the good features of a car (good handling, ride and gas mileage)and all the good features of an SUV (All Wheel Drive, Great Visibility and Cargo Space).I also bought the Forester for its reputation for reliability and safety

2006 Forester XT, compared to our 2003 Forester XS. Sleek and sporty. Minor visible changes all for the good. Much quieter, and car-like ride, yet very controlled. No wind noise. Engine is very quiet since it doesn't work hard to sprint off the line. Great power. No mileage check yet. The automatic transmission is very responsive, shifts the instant you need to accelerate. Has auto sports mode. Had to get it with leather and moonroof, part of the XT package. They are great. Seat is a little too hard for me. Climate control is great. New side mirrors are taller for better side and rear visibility. No flaws at all. Very well built. Great safety features and past safety record.

This is my fourth Subaru Forester. I can't seem to get enough of them. Each new model that I purchase seems to be better than the last. This has got to be the best of the bunch, particularly the acceleration, speed and overall comfort and convenience. I don't know how this one can be bettered except for having an interior dome light for the moonroof model(s)

I am very happy with the 06 Forester X, 5 speed. It has great acceleration, handling and fuel economy. The visibility is great and it is easy to park. Adjustments for the seat height and steering wheel are great to accommodate smaller drivers. Plenty of room in the trunk for our large dog and the rubber cargo mat is highly recommended. Incredible amount of standard equipment and very good pricing. Nicely improved from '05.
