Well, it could have been better

In general, I would say that for the price, it was not a bad guess. Comfort is good, the trunk is huge, the 2.2L engine performs well under normal conditions. All in all, it is not too bad. But... Brakes worn out after only 15000 mi. (pads AND disks!) Many small problems (steering, suspension, noises, lamps, parking brake, and so on...) And a "not so friendly" dealer that always says that everything is normal... This does not help! During summer, when using all-season tires (I replaced the ridiculous Firestones by much better BFGoodrich Traction T/A), fuel economy is OK, but in winter, with winter tires, wow... It drinks like a truck!

Before anyone can evaluate my review they have to understand where I am coming from. I used to drive a Chrsyler Sebring Convertable. I was in love with that car so anything would be well, secondary. The Saturn L200 is actually a great family car, lots of room great gas mileage and it responds well to the road. It has tight handeling in the corners and it drives straight down the road. The trunk is large and can handle quite a bit of luggage. It is a quiet ride with sufficient horespower. Overall I like the car.

LW200: Solid value

2002 Saturn L-Series LW200 4dr Wagon (2.2L 4cyl 5M)

The LW200 offers a good array of standard features (traction control, side airbags, etc.), good size/interior dimensions, and top-of-its-class fuel economy for a very competitive price. It is not a luxury ride, and its build quality is only fair. But it has provided reliable, economical transportation. Recommended.

This car has been great- quick handles great 30 mpg and fun, fun, fun. I am in the car all day and I never get tired of it. I have an accord and a camry prior and I think you are paying for the name. I have seen some bad reports on early L-series but this 2002 is fantastic!

This car is a great buy for the money. Great for college students and people who drive a lot because of the excellent gas mileage.
