If you havent noticed by now, every compact/economy car, the edmunds ratings have been "sub-par." whatever, i guess if you compare the saturn ion to lets say a lexus, than hmmm, maybe it is a little less than---maybe perfect! But lets be realistic, what do you expect for $17000. Anyway, this is my second saturn, the first trade in was a 97 sl2 with 180000 miles! This one will take that trip as well. I love saturn, i love the ion, and my next will be the Vue. GO ION!!!!

bought this car brand new back in 04 and ran without any problems till 2009 right when the viecle was paid off. it only has 55000 miles and had to replace ecm computer module and cat conververter but the car just feels like its going to fall apart and the engine sound like a engine that has 150,000 miles on it. because of this quality issues I will not buy another domestic vehicle again. i just hope it runs for another 3 to 5 years.

I love the car. I bought it knowing it was not a "Diet BMW." If you want a great car that performs well and won't break the bank, this is DEFINATELY the car for you. Also: I have owned 5 new cars and my experience at the Saturn dealership was the best by far.

I drive a lot every day. This has been a comfortable car with a large trunk and the seats are easily adjustable for many combinations, The offset dash is easy to read with controls user friendly. The interior is spartan but not unattractive. Not enough storage space around the front seat and you have to have a lighting package to get anything but a overhead dome light. I have 11,000 miles on it and have not been sorry for one minute. A great little car.

I find that the ION is a great car for commuting and for occassional passengers. Performance is more than adequate for freeway driving, and gas mileage is good, although not spectacular, averaging around 32-33mpg. Cruise control is a convenient bonus. The car may be small for a family, but for someone who frequently travels alone, it's very comfortable.
