What a great car!

I think this car is highly underrated. We had a bad experience with a previous Saturn, but the ION has been a godsend. Very reliable, very sporty, very fun to drive! The battery in the trunk is unique and very convenient for my needs.

We went to the Hyundai dealer and it was the worst eperience ever. They were the agressive old fashioned sales guys. They wanted us to sign a paper before we even had decided if we wanted the car. Also they wanted to charge us $225.- processing fees, Saturn charges $85.-. Also I would like to know where I can buy a Elantra with moonroof, leather and ABS for less then what we paid for the ION. We love the way it drives, chairs are comfortable, a lot better then the Ford Escort and the trunk is huge.

I just got my new car on Tuesday, and I just love it. GM sent me a letter saying that I could use my GM dollars towards a Saturn, and if I used them by December 31st, they would double them. Wow, that is $ 1,600.00 off my car. Thanks GM.

marketing strategy more honest

HAD NO INTENTION OF BUYING ION WHEN I ENTERED SATURN SHOWROOM. A QUICK SCAN OF THE ION WAS APPEALING AND THEN TO THE STICKER ON THE WINDOW, SURPRISED ME TO NOT BE NEAR THE EIGHTEEN OR NINETEEN THOUSAND MARK. SATURN IS ONE OF THE FEW WHO DO NOT JACK THE PRICE UP TWO OR THREE THOUSAND THEN OFFER YOU A REBATE. THE MARKETING STRATEGY OFFERING REBATES AND DEALER DISCOUNTS IS A PROCESS OF PYSCHOLOGICALLY CONDITIONING THE PUBLIC FOR EVER INCREASING COST OF AUTOS. IF A CAR SELLS STRONG THE MANUFACTURER TAKES THE REBATE OFF THUS SKUNKING YOU FOR A HIGHER PRICE. SATURN ISN'T DOING THAT AS I SEE IT. END COMMENT -- PRICE IS UP FRONT AND FAIR.

I used Edmunds ratings when I started my new car search, and was surprised at how harshly they treated Saturn. My experience with them has been excellent, and so I gave the Ion a try. After driving the higher rated cars in this class, I came home to Saturn. The Ecotech engine is not new; they've been using it since 2000 and it's *very* good. The safety features just got a 5 star rating, and I love the styling, inside and out. No, it's not a BMW, but for its class, it's a terrific value and the standard features are impressive. Take the 24 hour test drive and check out the various Saturn newgroups.
