Used 2003 Saturn ION Sedan Consumer Reviews
What a great car!
I think this car is highly underrated. We had a bad experience with a previous Saturn, but the ION has been a godsend. Very reliable, very sporty, very fun to drive! The battery in the trunk is unique and very convenient for my needs.
About Hyundai
We went to the Hyundai dealer and it was the worst eperience ever. They were the agressive old fashioned sales guys. They wanted us to sign a paper before we even had decided if we wanted the car. Also they wanted to charge us $225.- processing fees, Saturn charges $85.-. Also I would like to know where I can buy a Elantra with moonroof, leather and ABS for less then what we paid for the ION. We love the way it drives, chairs are comfortable, a lot better then the Ford Escort and the trunk is huge.
My New Car
I just got my new car on Tuesday, and I just love it. GM sent me a letter saying that I could use my GM dollars towards a Saturn, and if I used them by December 31st, they would double them. Wow, that is $ 1,600.00 off my car. Thanks GM.
Good Commuter
My ION has passed 87000 miles and has not given me any problems. The only repair issue has been a faulty oxygen sensor. The engine is decent for power and gets 30 mpg. The transmission does well enough but doesn't impress. The interior is touchy. The center instrument panel takes getting used to. The cup holders are badly placed, the seats are stiff and anything will stain the upholstery. The plastic interior and fans develop squeaking problems that require some mild garage rework to silence. The trunk has lots of space but has a small aperture. This was my first Saturn and the car has been very loyal, but it hasn't sold me on Saturn - the next car will be an open field.
Saturn got it right with Ion
It's sportier than the S-series in every way. Fun to drive, more power, responsive and is the direction Saturn has needed to go for some time. The service is legendary and you can expect that to continue. The cars have in the past been a bit noisy with less than striking styling, but that has changed for the better. The Ion is well-built and stylish; add the superb service and we just might see Saturn finally achieving its goal of competing well with the imports. All told, I love this car. Its tight, exciting styling, added power, vastly improved ride and turn radius are a huge boost to a car company that has always aimed to please. This time, they hit the bullseye!
