First 5K miles review of Macan 4S

This car is about driving dynamics. Although the price is hard to justify, and it lacks the sophistication of Tesla software, the car is head and shoulders above any other EV once you get behind the wheel and start driving it. It has been engineered to drive and handle like a Porsche. Meaning that there is no one pedal driving, and all the controls are where they should be, and not buried under sub-menus in a huge central screen. The interior is all Porsche, and not Chevy-like, as in all other SUVs. The build quality is high, and the interior and exterior design is way above any other EV. No maintenance issues so far, and dealer delivery and set up were exemplary (Huntington Porsche). So if you can afford it, this is a great car.

Road tripping beast but also fast and fun

This is my first EV but my 3rd Porsche. I’ve owned the gas MacanS and a 911 4S Cabriolet. Not to mention many other cars in the past. This car is everything I wanted in both a daily small and practical around town car and a road tripping beast. No issues with range anxiety given its relatively large battery and fast charging speed. It’s comfortable and quiet not to mention it’s incredibly fast (it’s a 4S) and handles the way a Porsche SUV should. It’s not a Taycan nor a 911 but it’s loads of fun and more practical. It has some software glitches but few and now far between. It doesn’t have anything like FSD but I wouldn’t want that on a Porsche. I bought it to drive it and Innodrive on the highway is fine on long hauls to rest some. CarPlay and the HUD work extremely well and the trip planner is excellent and quick when you need it. It can now use Tesla Superchargers so that’s an added bonus on long trips. However, I wouldn’t buy an SUV unless you have a home or local level 2 charger available. No regrets after close to 6k miles. It is expensive but given the speed of evolution of EV technology, I leased it and don’t regret that choice. I recommend either the 4S if you want a balance of range and speed or the RWD if you want super range with a better price. Both are excellent and the RWD is much better than the base ICE Macan in almost every way.
