Chick Magnet
Terrific all around ride. Built like an M-1 Abrams tank. And let me tell you, it gets the girls. Awesome gas Milage and also supurb handling in the snow. I'd take this car over any import. Built in America, the way it should be.
Plymouth
I have had few problems at all with my car and they had all resulted from the wear and tear from the previous owner. This has been the most reliable and smooth-driving car I have owned. I hope to keep this car for years down the road because I know it will stick by me!
Cheap & fast
Nice generic sedan that has enough room for 5. The V6 engine has decent power. Biggest downfall is the auto transmission. Had to rebuild it TWICE. It's holding together now, but need to stay on top of maintainence
Granny Car
I've owned it about 6 years. Runs great. After 100,000 miles had a small leak in the tranny and air. Had new brakes and fuel filter put on but other than that it rides great.
VERY good car!!!!
I bought mine in 2000 from the Original owner, an older man who is my next door neighboor. I have tricked it out with NEW paint job, Limo window tint, Performance tires... The car gets AWESOME gas mileage, at 37 mpg after having it tuned up a few months ago, and has 120,000 miles on it now. I turn heads with it. ONLY Major repairs its needed has been a new radiator, and 2 fuel pumps... Someone STOLE the AC system out of it, and I recently had a NEW AC system put in. I love the car.
Advice from somebody who knows about car
I bought this car as a second car for fun, first off although it's nice and super solid, flaw the transmission, why overdrive transmission is when the transmission runs faster than the Engine. Seriously I don't understand why, but I suppose some like cruise control. The car is a 3.0 engine type it is strong so don't expect a 100 percent smooth ride. However, it's got kick mine is at 281,xxx and runs really well. The core components are simple, but useful and reliable. All and all you may need to replace the transmission a few times, but thats all you will likely have trouble with. That amount you save in maintenance will cover the tranny when it needs service overall solid!
Lemon or Lime?
I am not very happy with the whole transmission problem and I see a few of the customers on here are or had the same problem I am going through. My cousin told me about this problem AFTER I bought it. thinking about doing a rebuild but not sure if it would be worth it, what do you all think?
good car
I have driven this car for three years I love this car. Its really a dependable car. I wish i could buy another dependable car. The car has had very little problems with me.Other than normal wear and tear I don't have a problem with it.
Good Transport
I bought it used and have driven it 40k miles. Only problem I had was the cracked rear axle. Amazingly it hasn't had a tuneup because the plugs are frozen into the engine block (it was that way when I bought it) and I expected only to get one year or so from it, but it still runs fine.
Excellent, Reliable and Durable
Got this car a year ago, first car and figured it would be a one-two year car. Great car, high milage with no real maintenance needed in almost 20,000 miles after 74,000. Good size easy to drive, great first car. So durable, I walked away from a roll-over from it with nothing more than a sprained shoulder, and though the car was crammed with books and movies, 95% of them survived. (roll-over was due to old tire blow-out). Would buy again, no doubt about that. Body not too dissimilar to a slightly older luxury car, and padding that is almost as comfortable.
Great First Car
This was my first car, and a great one, until I crashed it. I had the V6 engine and was getting roughly 25mpg in it. I never had any problems with it. Very fast. Ugly exterior in my opinion. Great, reliable car.
title 1
all around good car
Papaw's Plymouth
Drives well in all circumstances. Handles best of any familiar car, especially through flood waters. The car is stable through deep water. Ride is firm and sure, but a bit too rough for a 78 year old man. The car is very dependable. It gets good fuel economy.
poor choice
the most expensive repair ive ever had as of all the cars... stabilizer bar are common repairs need and the wheels...alignment.... that car had so much trouble with front and back wheels parts and connection to it....it costed me over 3000.00 in two years.
2003
I am the original owner of the vehicle and I am still driving the original motor, alternator, struts, shocks, and did a repair of the transmission at about 110,000 miles. The person who repaired the tranny was marveled that I had driven the tranny so long without breaking down. I still have the original am/fm cassette player with speakers and they are still going. Most of the miles were placed on the highway but also have done a lot of street driving too. The car has been given approximately every 3,000 miles a checkup. So far still driving and I am proud to have a car as stirdy as this one
Reliable, but...
My car has been pampared a lot. I only use oct93 fuel and change the oil about every 5k. Sylvania white bulbs.etc... I bought the car at 36k orginal miles. At 90k the transmision broke and would only run in 2nd gear. (I have a V6-4sp). I had a full warrenty luckly, but the repair cost was almost 1700.00. I've relaced the ASIpump 3x now, and replaced the AC system 3x as well. The check engine light comes on and off, and no one can tell me why. Ok car, but I'm embarrased that Americans built such a car.
1994 Plymouth Acclaim
Purchased from a neighbor who is mutual acquaintenance of mine and his. One of the most important things is that car starts up in both extremes of weather and the AM/FM always works too. Good gas mileage and does not burn up any oil at this age - the cars(nearly ten years old)not mine.
Keeps on Truckin...
Bought from a frined who owned it since new. Now its got over 160k miles, and still going strong. The 3L/3spd combo is bullet proof. Can't complain a lick, been cheap reliable transportation.
Very good car
Bought this car when it was a year old with 9,000 miles on it. Had real good luck with the car other than normal up keep like tires, tune ups, exaust.
Plymouth Power
I picked this black Acclaim 3.0 up new for 15 grand. I took my newborn son home in that car and he's almost 11 now.He wants to keep the car and learn how to drive on it! I have a new 2005 Ford and the kids want to ride "Blackie". I have 110,100 hard driven New york City miles on it. This car has never failed to start in all the starts I've had in ten+ years. I had a new tranny at 30,000 (under warranty), but I love this car. It's great in the snow and the A/C cranks in the summer. I have a tape deck but I haven't had a tape in eight years. Oh yeah, a new Maaco paint job 4 years ago when my son washed the car with a brillo pad. Hope it keeps going, beats a car payment!

The Barney car
Loved this car, just hated the purple color. Bought this car in 2002 for $2,500.00. Had every option available on it. Loved the stereo, had the 3 band equalizer sound system, played tape and cd. 3.0 V 6, would smoke the front tires. Changed the engine oil every 2,000, changed the trans oil every 20,000, and brake fluid every pad change.Best car ever, great gas mileage, nice and roomy. Had 195,000 miles on it when a Jimmy John sub driver, blew through a stop sign and just about tore off the whole front end. I walked away, but cried many tears over loosing that car, I would have bought another Acclaim if only I could have found one just as good.
